Remarks

The college is wonderful the best in India the management needs to give students more freedom as it very restrictive.

Entrance Preview

IIT JEE - Rank 1570 CAT- 99.27 percentile I wanted to study in IIT always so there was no confusion. Did not appear for any other exam for engineering.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

It was very good total no of credits were 216 with 4 credit courses to be done there were fixed core courses followed by some core electives which were optional. It was followed by 30 credits which had to be taken from other courses like management, computer tech, humainities and social sciences and energy sector there were two research based projects.

Internships Opportunities

It does not provide internship. It only provides stipend for those who pursue M.Tech and are given 7000 per month for that.

Placement Experience

5

Placement is good almost everybody places. Packages ranging from 5-6 Lakhs to even over crore packages. Also, companies from Consulting to investment banks and from core to general consulting companies are included in placements.there are large no of startups who are now part of placement process.

College Events

5

Cultural event is called rendezvous and is done at a very large scale. there are inter college events along with rock show and live shows like singing shows and celebrity shows.there were jam sessions also the tech fest is known as Tryst where people demonstrate their techincal projects also, there is sportech which included competition among all colleges of delhi and IITs.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is 36000 per year for tuition fees and there are mess fees of 8000 per semester. However, there are lot of scholarships like Merit cums means scholarship and others which are available. also, there are frequent fees hikes.I heard the fees is now 1 lakh per annum now. This is unfair.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratio was very skewed one can imagine that there were 2 girls hostel and 10 boys hostel there were several parties like house day, socials and all. There was healthy politics also which was inter hostel and intra hostel too all in all it was wonderful experience.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities were really good the lawns and gym were good the mess food was messy and need to be really improved. There should be more role of students in deciding the food and all for first year the room was shared with one other guy but from second year onwards, every student had a own room.

Alumni/Alumna

There is an alumni network and there are pan india events i have been unfortunate to not been in India to attend any of them yet.

Exam Structure

There were too many exams in each semester there were 2 minor exams followed by a major exam at the end of each semester also there were certain quiz in classes some of which were surprise quizzes also, there were lab assessments. so there were virtually exams every other week.

Admission

There was two step process first was screening test which was objective followed up by a mains test which was subjective and had to be answered in answer sheets screening test was in December and the mains test was in march. The result was out in june and session started in july.

Faculty

3

Faculty were good an interactive they need to however be more interactive and try to make lectures more interesting. There was also less focus on laboratory the lab infra was how ever good and could be make more to use the faculty were qualified and able some were just M.Tech from IIT and should not have been appointed.Others were good. More exchange profs need to be bring.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course curriculum at DTU is quite relevant and comprehensive. The reason I chose this course was the mix of strong fundamentals in the first year—like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Programming—followed by department-specific core and elective courses that allow some flexibility and specialization. The curriculum gives a solid foundation for both real-world applications and further studies, especially through hands-on projects and lab work. That said, some areas could be improved, like including more industry exposure, internships, and practical case studies to bridge theory and real-world problems. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-terms and end-terms) and include assignments and projects as part of evaluation. While most exams are manageable if you keep up with the coursework, a few subjects can be challenging, and preparation is key to avoid surprises.

Placement Experience:

The annual placements at NIT Delhi are consistently getting better year by year where the top branches such as CSE, ECE, and IT are leading the way with their strong placement rates. Many students get hired at very attractive salaries by well-established companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Microsoft, and Amazon. For example, the CTC of the best offers have reached as high as ?15–20 LPA in some instances. The Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical branches also contribute to the university’s overall placement record to some extent. Those students usually boost the available opportunities for themselves by taking up internships and off-campus offers. Moreover, the students who fail to get a job on the campus can still benefit out of the college atmosphere where the strong basics of coding, projects, and practical skills are taught which makes the students quite employable at startups, off-campus, or even when going for higher studies like M.Tech/GATE/abroad. To sum up, NIT Delhi is a very solid foundation for the students whether they want to have a career or continue with their education.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is relevant and comprehensive, with practical modules and industry-focused content that influenced my choice. It effectively bridges academic knowledge with real-world applications. However, adding more case studies and interdisciplinary approaches could enhance learning. Exams are well-timed but could better assess critical thinking. Teaching methods would benefit from integrating more interactive and hands-on sessions.
