as i am already admitted in this university from my point of view the university is really nice one. it is the oldest university of assam and as a student of women's studies i want to proud that the center of women's studies gauhati university is the first women's studies center of north east india. so that is behind the cause that am opting this course in gauhati university.
Course Curriculum Overview
the discipline of women's studies in overall india itself started after 1980's so from that point of view it is a very new course and it's very much updated. the syllabus of women's studies is interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary in nature. no our course is not having any industrial exposure. faculties are also very good; the name of the HOD is Polly Vocquline. their teaching methods are very well.
Placement Experience
due to covid 19 pandemic we don't know how much the placement rate will be there. many of doing internship with different programmes. there are good communication among the alumni batches and present students. our teachers are also very much encouraging in terms of jobs volunteering opportunities and regular basis our department doing NET preparation class.
College Events
there are lots of cultural programme in the university have been helding such as youth festival, versity week, international seminar and all the programmes are organized very smoothly, there are NSS cell in the university, ECO Club, canteens, labs, yoga programmes and all of these programmes are very encourging and in the versity week all the departments are co operate very nicely.
