Remarks

First and foremost Gauhati University is one of the top most University of Assam everyone's dream is to study here so,I too wanted to join GU. Secondly I wanted to opt for Women's Studies course,these days people really don't know what's feminism is all about they only know that hatred of men is feminism.I wanted to study in detail,here we got to learn about History, Political science, Economic, Geography that relate with women.

Course Curriculum Overview

First and foremost I have to take the name of the facilities in Women's Studies Dr. Poonam Kakoti Norah,Dr. Polly Vauquline,Dr.Alpana Borgohain they are heart of the Department.The way they teach is up to mark those Professor's were from the top most University of India like JNU. The syllabus was the updated one.

The one who opt for Women's Studies can go for social work or can take teaching as a proffession. Few of our seniors were engaged in NGO's doing a great job for the society.Many of our seniors have take teaching as a proffession and was successful in their field.Few of them were doing ph.d and one of our senior have started her own cloud kitchen famous as 'Orange Oven' very famous here in Guwahati.

College Events

The campus life was awesome. Apart from teaching GU was in top rank when it comes to extracurricular activities like dance, music, sports.We have our varsity week where we students got the platform to showcase our talents.The technical team of Gauhati University are way to good.We celebrate every festival and we enjoyed a lot.

Thoughts regarding my college

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placement in 5th semester.Various companies come for placement like HDFC bank and more.The package that was offered was around 2lpa in 2024.During our time placement drive was organised in 5th semester but the companies demanded immediate joining which was not possible for us to join since we were already left with one more semester to complete .

Placement Experience:

Placements are good . Around 60% students gets placed. More than 250+ companies visits. Many students are preferring DS and Non Tech roles after graduation ( for core branches ) and they are getting good opporutunities in them aswell.

The placement is quite good in my college. In 7 th semester the placements start and the package goes from 16lpa to 2 cr . About 75 percent student who applied got placed . I want to work in a software firm.

Course curriculum is Really tough...its really hard to complete this vast syllabus in a year that is anatomy of whole body, biochemistry whole reactions and physiology whole processes that is physiological in nature.

The exams were often taken by the administrations. We had majorly juries. Juries were conducted well with external present at most times. A 3/5 in terms of the other subjects that are mandatorily taken for no apparent reason like CEN or BHS.

My academic experience at University Law College, Gauhati University

Before enrolling myself in ULC, GU it tried to get in to Facuty of Law, Delhi University but because of lack of preparation time as I decided to get myself into studying law very late, I could't clear that particular exam and then to seek for other options I found ULC which has a very rich history of a great alumni base including esteemed Jurists and Lawyers around the country. The admission process includes an examination of 100 marks coducted by Gauhati University which tests students knowledge in various aspects including General Knowlege, English, Mathematics, Logical Reasoning. The cut off for general category students ranges from around 20 to 30 based on the result of other students. I got through this exam scoring 56 with a rank of 5.
