Msc. Microbiology at Shoolini University

Shoolini University is Himachal's no.1 private university and it is ranked under top 200 college/universities by NIRF. Shoolini also holds the record of filing highest no. of patents by a private university in North India. The admission process is simple and is online which makes the process quite easy. I chose Shoolini because of its serene and beautiful campus located in the foothills of the Himalayas and also because of their research quality which is the best. Talking about my department, the faculty is very helpful and guides at every step. The teaching method is quite simple but the interactive activities of the teachers make learning fun.

I opted for MSc. Microbiology because I love working on microbes and to my surprise, the faculty of microbiology is quite helpful and very educated in their respective subjects. All faculty members of the Microbiology department are well qualified with their respective subject knowledge and they all have their unique teaching practices that make learning fun. Term exams conducted by the university are always on schedule and they are quite challenging as compared to regular class tests and quizzes.

The placement score of Shoolini is great. Many multinational companies visit the campus during placement season and select many students from different departments. The students become eligible for placements in their last year of course.

Wellbeing North India's top-notch private university, the fees at Shoolini might be quite high for few students but they also provide scholarships to eligible students. Shoolini provides single girl child scholarship to the female students who are the only single girl child to their parents and whose father is no more, the university also provides scholarships to former graduated students of its own and to students who are graduated from SILB, Solan.

The campus life at Shoolini is very interesting and fun. Shoolini conducts its annual fest every year and apart from annual fest which has its own hype in whole University, there are also other events like inter-departmental competitions, club events, cricket tournament, football matches and a lot more. Shoolini holds the record of having a biggest in campus library in the Himachal Pradesh. The library is filled with a number of books of every subject or topic that you can think of. Librarians are also helpful. Also, there are departmental libraries as well. For recreation, Shoolini has its own stadium named Yuvraj Singh cricket stadium after Yuvraj Singh who comes there once every year, also there is Milkha Singh sports complex which has a gymnasium and a badminton court. There are many student clubs in Shoolini be it quiz club, cooking, drawing, singing, drama, dance, you name it and there's a club for that.

The hostels are with different beddings like there are two bed hostels,three bed hostels having their respective cost. I opted for a two bed hostel so I can tell you about that. The hostels are very good. Rooms are good having bunk beds, study tables, window curtains, mattress, almirah. The food served at the mess is nutritious and healthy. The menu is quite varied. The registration process for hostels is simple and is online just like the admission process. As the university is located at a lot of distance from the solan city, it is preferred to opt for hostels because university buses are often overcrowded and also you have to travel a lot if you live in a pg in solan.
