Remarks

This college is truly holistic Without a doubt in my mind since class 10 itself , Hindu college lived up to it's name when I entered the college. Though the admission process which starts May June each year was not quite a pleasant experience, I knew somewhere that a life of good learning awaited me like a treasure in a heavily guarded cave. My 3 years were great and I am quite a changed man now from a shy, secretive kid in the beginning of the first year Pros:- + Excellent Exposure due to Delhi's strategic location + Very Friendly seniors ( Trust me, the best most caring out there. + Great Faculty + Vibrant Societies + Great Alumina network ( 120 year old college, what did you expect? ) + Like minded students for your choice ( literally Every combination exists) Cons :- - Administration is slow and ineffective - Placements are Average , though companies recruiting are good. - College Politics

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I wanted to pursue Political Science and the best place for that in India is Hindu College without a doubt. It has been Ranked 2 according to the NIRF rankings. The faculty student ration has increased over the years at 1:20 . But the quality of teaching hasn't degraded a bit. The faculty have top notch qualifications from esteemed universities like JNU, DU, Birmingham , Oxford etc. The exam level was generally between moderate to difficult but was very easy to pass. Except this year, every year the exams were held on time.

Placement Experience

3

Even though many from my department generally don't prefer placements and go for UPSC and Masters. However there was one girl from my class who got placed in Oberoi. From the 3rd Year itself one can opt for placements. Disha is our Placement Cell and it's placement record is quite decent to say at least. Mostly for placements we have students from Commerce and Economics Marquee Companies like EY, DE Shaw, KPMG and Google recruit from our college. Highest Salary - 31 LPA ( an Economics student bagged the same) Average - 7.5 LPA

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is quite reasonable and was around 13000 Rs which has only recently increased to 15000 . The college offers a lot many scholarships to Category Students and there are new scholarship opportunity coming up every once in a while. In short Super Affordable.

Campus Life

3

Our Annual Festival is Mecca and everybody waits for this event because of its magnanimous nature. All top singers like the Local Train, Papon , Vishal Sekhar have come here and have given epic performances. The College library has been expanded and a new library has been constructed. Literally every major book on Politics and IR and other subject can be found there even those that are no longer in circulation. In terms of extracurricular activities this college is full of it as every society under the sun exists. We have Ibiza which is the biggest society out there and was founded by Imtiaz Ali back in the 90s.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The ba programe here is little different from other colleges accross the country. The curriculum is quite diversified. If you are intrested in arts , there is lot to learn. If one want to become writter or any thing related to literature , or want to become historian , geo-politics expert, etc. The course is quite good. The exams held every four and a half or five months and the difficulty level is moderate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Like this course is about rights and authorities which is very important for everyone nowadays and specially when you are a girl so that nobody couldn't dominate you. We read about what were the past sceniors towards the lower castes or women which is also happens in most of the states and cities but this curriculum taught us whats the reality of the world and how to be independent and how to protest for our rights . Even we can more learn about this if the faculity organises those things via presentation or streamings with some videos so it will be more helpful in our exams too!!

English honours was my first preference because I like to read and write. Analysing texts is something I was always fond of and with the guidance of my professors it's become more fun. The course has not much placements opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Coming to english hons I had a little different expectations and this turned out to be a little different, This course is too much till where I have studied is inclined towards literature which sometimes students do not like. There are many subjects inside the core, but subjects like literary studies caught lot of attention due to it's attractiveness and different perspectives. Sometimes things go a lot off syllabus which disrupts mindful learning but thankgod it's just 30-40% of it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is not updated . Teachers uses old method of teaching on pen and paper. Like in statistics now various tools are available in market and instead of making us learn those tools teachers are teaching the most basic things on pen and paper. But the course is very demanding nowadays.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is basically design to study economics in a depth so that the understanding of student related to world economic, how economics work , how it affect an individual etc increase and he can work more efficiently to give theories and work in the companies related to economics. The curriculum includes value added course and skill enhanced courses that help us to learn different types of skills that are required in the real world applications. Improvement in these can be done by asking the student to apply all these into real life and connect students with the real life approaches related to the course. For core subjects the timing of paper is 3 hours and for sec and vac courses the timing of paper is 1 hour.
