Mimansa's Review On Shyama Prasad Mukherji College For Women, New Delhi

I got 86% in my 12th examination, and I wanted to pursue political science hons. North campus has a very high cut-off for this course which usually exceeds 95 percentile, so getting admission in north campus was difficult. In second cut-off I got to know about shyama Prasad mukherji for women, and I visited the college and quite liked the atmosphere there. College is situated away from the noise in a very good area of Punjabi bagh west. It is an off campus girls college , it is at a walkable distance from metro station, getting PGs near College is also easy. Aslo the academics provided are excellent. So overall it's a pretty decent college for someone who has missed getting admission in north campus.

I feel like political science course definitely need an update because it's an active subject, everyday their is a political event happening which is necessary to known and analyse about. While pursuing political science I don't think so we are provided enough industrial exposure. Anyways for political science subject industrial exposure isn't applicable. Faculties provided to us are very knowledgeable and experienced. Some faculty members are in the job for more than 10 years. I really like my international relations professor Dr. Amna Mirza she's a reputed name in delhi university.

I have done n campus ambassador program for careers360, the stipend offered to me was 3k and overall process of selection was filling out a form and having a small interview.

I haven't seen seniors getting placed into good companies through college placement. However they all are working in some great companies in which they applied on their own. The average salary package offered through spmc placement is 2-3 lakh annually.

Campus life is awesome if you have good friends to hang out with. My campus life in spmc have been pretty much awesome till now. I joined theatre society in 1st year of my college, theatre society is one of the most active society in college and perform annual stage production and other plays for college and competition. Also the fest conducted this year was on a huge for the first time.

My college infrastructure is quite decent, the highlight of the college is definitely it's greenery. It has all the necessary facilities sucha as gym, ground, auditorium, labs, photocopy shop, etc. However the old building walls are damp and need cleanup. also the wifi provided to us usually don't work, and same is the case with smart boards.

Spmc Don't have a hostel facility yet. I stay in a PG nearby which has all the facilities, but PGs in Punjabi bagh are really very costly. My monthly rent for PG is 10k and it is 3 sharing room. PGs are available at a walkable distance from college.
