Remarks

College Infrastructure college have good infrastructure, college provide many facilities like Air conditioned Library and reading room. open sitting area for students. Many sports equipment available. Laboratories need little maintenance. washrooms are not clean. college mess should improve food quality. Academics i'm doing my b.sc non-medical, teacher are really hardworking. they are always supporting. yeah it makes me job ready. college need some strictness about attendance. seminars and workshops should be held atleast twice in a month.

Course Curriculum Overview

Good curriculum with regular fests and weekly workshops. Totally worth to get admission in this college but quality of placements in this college is very bad. students are not getting jobs at high packages, low salaries are offered. college is not good in placements. Few of the companies came to college but only 10 students were placed. college fees is nominal, it's totally worth.

Dav is affordable by almost everyone. Campus placements are satisfactory. Students are happy getting placed in companies through campus placement. Provided package is nominal.

College Events

Experience related this college very good from the first day. I like the canteen,teachers,environment infrastructure and behaviour of the teachers and well qualified. There are 4 to 6 big festivals are celebrated in college with compulsion attendance.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is exceptional scholarship provided to those students who are are performed well in academics as well as sports quota or if you are from not so good furniture background they can also do concession in your fees I feel this is the best thing any College can do.

Campus Life

Sport faculties was good and annual sport day are held in the month of February. Infrastructure wise it's really good industrial visit for better industry exposure, having amazing Friends bunking classes made college life so enjoyable. No placement Issues More airy and spacious student crowd is energetic and talented Affordable in terms of studies and projects.

PEC - History and optimism

Likes

The campus is over 100 years old and has strong alumini network.
Placements are good as per my rank in JEE
Peer group is good and there are diversed people all around

Dislikes

Infrastructure is really old; but then again legacy comes at a cost.
Campus is smaller as compared to NITs and IITs ; so is the funding
Its still not an institute of national importance. Has no nation wide recognition

Placement Experience:

Since the first batch of VLSI is yet to be placed I would take example of ECE for reference. Out of 110 students which sat for placements , 91 got placed , median of 13 lakh with avergae of 16 lakh and 61 lakh highest on campus. These are of 24-25 and this year placements are better as even apple visited us after an hiatus of 3 years. In core electronics , Samsung Rnd , TATA electronics , Cadence , Micron etc visited for tech , UKG , PhonePay , Oracle , Accenture etc vist in consulting and finance , Mckinsey , JP Morgan , GoldmanSachs , AmericanExpress visit. After my btech I plan to do a job.

Syllabus is good, it is very versatile and updated according to the industry standards
The University also has a good events and also a good night life
The infrastructure is very modern with unique outlets to eat in

Dislikes

There is a uniform system which is very bad according to university
Very strict rules regarding in and out of the University
The outlets in university are quite expensive

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course plan around 7 out of 10 in terms of relevance and depth. I chose this course mainly because it includes core tech subj like DSA, DBMS, OS, AI and cloud, which are useful for jobs in tech field. The presence of lab work and proj based learning also influenced my choice. The curriculum gives a fair base in theory and basic prac skills. It helps in campus place prep and also builds base for higher study like MTech or MS. But real world skill still depends a lot on self study, online course and side proj. Some topics feel updated, but a few subj are still too theory heavy and not linked to real case use. Exams are held twice as mid test and once as end term in each sem. There are also quiz, viva and lab eval. The level is moderate. If you attend class and revise notes, it is manageable. For improve, more live proj, hack event, ind visit and case study should be added. Teach method should shift more to code demo and less slide read

Likes

Good facilities, really teaches student and give individual attention in class too
Good infrastructure , as it was just built in 2021, the infrastructure is top notch and no complaints about it.
Papers are being checked anonymously, one’s paper can be checked by any teacher in any campus, so no chance of partiality

Dislikes

80% strict attendance criteria other they would not allow to sit in exam
Passing criteria is 40% and grading system is also bery difficult, two D grade is 1 F and more than 2F could lead to year repeat year, not even semster
Alot of assigments, really hectic at times

Placement Experience:

We have avergae package of 12 lpa and 57lpa highest, i am not aware of how mqny placed. As such i have plan to get placed but if things didnt go out as planed then mba or mtech maybe. Our campus just opened recently so there is no much information but our placements are central that means, companies visting mumbai have to visit us too, and u can refer mumbai campus placement for our campus because its counted on central level and not varries campus to campus

Remarks:

There are very limited art college in india and GCA Chandigarh is 1 of them. I opted for printmaking because I wanted to explore different mediums of expression. The college is well equipped with faculty experienced in their own particular mediums aswell as exploring new mediums. You will get the freedom to build you creativity.

I have apllied for DU but delhi was far away from my hometown i didn't choose DU , for this college I have keen interest in sports and in militry and the great alumni have attracted me for this college. You have to fill a form after that you will get the notification through mail for physical councelling and completion of physical councelling you will get payment link of whole year fee on your mail id within a week and after that you are enrolled . I thought that this college was better in infrastructure, faculty , campus life , students . But perhaps i was wrong about it . It is worse than other Colleges . Lacks basic facilities.i applied is sd college , didnt get admission because my cut off went off by 2 percent , later they just gave admissions through referrals which i didnt have . As DAV is ranked one of the best instituions in north region for Bcom degree.
