Remarks

One of the main thing was that this college is one of the top 10 college in the state and the programmes are accredited by NAAC. Since this college is also being a govt- aided college, the tution fees is also pretty low. The alumni were also diverse and is in many prestigious organization like ISRO, VSSC, Bosch, MRF, Cognizat, Allianz etc. So I thought it will be a good shot compared to other colleges. I wanted to git to some other colleges like CET and NIT but for my rank the best college I would give a shot at was my current college.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The syllabus that is being followed in almost all the colleges in kerala is pretty much outdated. When compared to other universities, we are still lagging behind updation of the topics. So the academic curriculum needs a huge revolution I may say. The faculties in my college are very qualified. Most of them have PhD. But even though they have good qualifications, some of them are lagging behind on the teaching quality. But professors like Dr Brijesh Paul, Dr Kurian John, Dr Deepak Eldho Babu, Dr Vinod Eldho baby, Eldho Paul is top notch.

Internships Opportunities

I have had both paid and unpaid internships. I worked for Internshala as their student representative for 6 months and the stipend was based on my performance. I just cleared the minimum requirements and received some goodies and certificates from their side. I also worked with Carees360 as their campus representative for 4 months and as a virtual intern for 2 months and received a stipend of about 2000rs. I have also dine internship at appollo tyres and Keltron for about 15 days which had no stipend.

Placement Experience

3

If you are willing to work in an IT firm, then it's pretty much obvious that you will certainly have a job when leaving the college. The students belonging to our CS department has almost 100% placement rate. Top companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant and many good startups like zoho are visiting the campus and the intake is also pretty high. There are many company based on Electronics and Electrical also visiting the campus like VVDN, mistral, kalki etc. But when it comes to mechanical and civil it is pretty low. Since these department requires more experienced workers than freshers the campus placements are also less. But some of the students from these departments also joins an IT firm and pursue their career there. The companies that visits on mechanical are MRF, OEN Connectors etc. Due to the covid situation in the country the scheduled placements of Cameroon and some other core placements are being postponed. The placement opportunities from most of the core companies are due to our alumni network. We have our alumni in almost all good core companies at their highest posts.

College Events

4.5

The campus life here is just wonderful. Even though we may feel uncomfortable at the first 2 years, but when we reach the final year we may fall in love with the campus. The campus is so beautiful with trees, ponds, flowers etc. Our annual national level technical fest 'Takshak' and annual cultural fest 'Sanskriti' is one of the top notch fests in the state. Participants from the whole state will come to the campus during these days. If you ask any student in the college on what you will miss the most in the campus, then there will be only one answer and that would be Sanskriti & Takshak.

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven't taken any scholarships or loans from the college and I am also unaware of any such programs offered in my college. I think there is no such programs present in the college other than giving some endorsements for their achievements. But there are different programs that are being offered by the state government based on merit, caste and economic background.

Campus Life

4

The campus has an above average infrastructure. We have a good cricket ground cum athletic track which is in partnership with kerala cricket association and has 2 Cricket nets as well. We have a olympics size swimming pool and an indoor stadium for volleyball, basketball and badminton. There are other dedicated sports facilities as well. The campus is fully wifi equipped. Our campus has a huge library comprising of 3 floors. It has a digital library as well. The labs are well equipped with sufficient machines and equipments. Since being less inclined towards updation, the machines are pretty old.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostels are pretty much decent but the hostels are unable to accommodate all the students in the campus and the students also should meet very high academic stats as well. There are certain rules as well like to be inside the hostel before 9pm for boys and 6pm for girls. So most of the students after the first year would prefer PG's outside. The PG's are a bit expensive. If you are staying as a group it would be managed. The main difference will be in the food expenses when these two are compared where hostel messes have great food at moderate rates.

Placement are not the best. But EY , federal bank, TCS are some the prominent companies that are coming. The negative thing about placement is most of them are offering marking jobs. So if you are someone who is interested in operations this is not the collage you want to in.

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.
