I applied to most tier 2 IITs. The reason I chose this college was the flexible curriculum they have. 0% attendance policy along with the flexibility of making your own time table makes it easier for students to find their own interests and excel in them. BITSAT is the way to get into BITS, unless you are a stateboard topper. The cutoff is around 230/360 marks. The exam level is near to JEE Mains. BITS Pilani has a name for itself not just in India but outside it as well. It has a very widespread alumni network, all of whom are very helpful. Since I started my jee preparations, BITS Pilani was the only college I was eager to get in to. Other colleges at its level (my friends study in, I get to know about these things from them) lack infrastructure and resources. The college administration doesn't focus on students. The admission is offered on basis of BITSAT score and you must have 75 percent plus in all 3 of maths , physics and chemistry in 12th board exams. Application form can be found on bits admission website and admission fee is 5500 for both sessions. There are no reservation benefits. Exams are held twice an year and of 390 marks.
