Remarks

The college has conducted training on improving cancer control, disaster preparedness, neuro development among children, evidence based management of diabetes, tobacco control and cardiovascular diseases. Additionally, the college has also conducted training on sub-themes like disability, hearing impairment, rapid response and adolescent health.

Entrance Preview

The PhD program is of minimum 3 years, full time and project based. The research topic for PhD will be developed under the guidance of mentors from PHFI and AcSIR. The students are free to choose any topic of their interest ranging from basic sciences to community based studies. The student can be allocated to any of the CSIR Labs participating in the collaborative program on mutual consent.

Placement Experience

3

A lot of things needs to be kept in mind while applying for the placement in the college. Student has to be sure about the opportunity before applying for the position/ profile shared by the placement cell. Any withdrawal of the candidature at a later stage will result in disqualifying the candidate from further placement process. A student who has applied for a particular vacancy, and has been shortlisted is required to appear for the interview. Any uninformed absence from the interview, except for some valid reasons, will result in disqualifying the candidate from the placement process.

College Events

3.5

International Conference of Public Health (ICOPH) 2016 was organized in Colombo, Srilanka on July 2016. The conference theme was "Bridging the gap between research and policy and creating a global platform to discuss evidence-based health policies and interventions in public health". The event was very informative and I was fortunate to be a part of it.

Fees and Financial Aid

I got scholarship under this scheme. The college has been supported by the Infosys Foundation announces the institution of INFOSYS Fellowships in Public Health for Indian Students pursuing Masters in Public Health (MPH) at the Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs), institutions of higher learning established by PHFI. The objective of the fellowships is to identify and train 25 MPH graduates to meaningfully engage with grass-roots NGOs, to strengthen and bring value to NGO activities and contribute towards community development.
