Remarks

Gender equality is a small problem there in the campus. Course fee structure is also a problem for students. Some branches lack faculties for subjects. But overall it is a very good institution.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is same as other NITs. There are other branches like B. Arch, Biotechnology and chemistry, physics, etc. Course fee may vary accordingly. Exams include two internals and an end semester exam. Internal exams will help you to remember what you studied and save it for end exam for each semester.

Placement Experience

3.5

In 2018, 70% of the students studied in this college got placed at top companies including MNCs. Some of them are Tata Consultancy Service, Oracle, Adobe, Dell, Lenovo, Nokia, L&T, HSBC, SBI, etc. Around 70% of the students will be placed in every year. Top salary offering was 75 lacs. There is separate branch for placement. They will conduct some mock interview from fifth semester itself. There will be having internships, industrial visits to prepare your for the placement.

College Events

4.5

Tathva is the main technical fest in this college. Lot of technological advancements will be showcased during this event including several workshops, lectures, competitions, auto expo and so on. Ragam is the cultural fest of NITC. This event will be conducted to remember Rajan, who was a student of NITC( earlier CREC) who died of brutal torturing from police. This Ragam festival itself is the soul of the college. Most famous event in Kerala. Lot of other colleges from other parts of India will participate during this event and they will compete each. Both Tathva & Ragam are 3-days events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

There are separate course fee for DASA students(outside India) and students from inside India. Course fee is somewhat feasible as there is loan availability from SBI NITC branch. But every course fee is getting increased. So for students course fee is expensive. There is separate fee for hostels.

Fees and Financial Aid

There was several scholarship including scholarship from Govt. of Kerala, lions club and Central Govt. SBI NITC branch will avail you education loan if needed.

Campus Life

Campus life was a dream come true. There are many students from other parts of India including Andra pradesh, Tamilnadu, Nagaland, UP, Karnataka, and so on. You can see great diversity here. Still we live as one family, NITCians. In recent years, there were some issues with gender equality. Many sports competitions are also there. Not to mention Robotic Interest Group workshops, IEEE workshops etc. Many clubs including debate club, DnD club, Club Mathematica etc.

Hostel Facilities

I was admitted to A-hostel in first year. All the freshers are admitted to either A-hostel or G-hostel. In a room there will be four students. Hostel rent is feasible (2000/month, including food). Hostels will provide good foods, both Non-veg and veg. For final years, each student will be allotted to single room.

Alumni/Alumna

Students Guidance Cell is an active group in NITC, which helps students in all situations. There are alumni network to help students and faculties.

Admission

I got admission in this college through JEE exams. Those who passed JEE Main exam can choose this college. Admission process usually happens in the month of August. It is a 3-days process. They will evaluate your entrance exam result & plus-two documents. Based on this, they will give you a token for further process including hostel admission. Fresh year students will be admitted to A-hostel.

Faculty

4

Each students will be assigned with a faculty advisor, who is a faculty of college itself. They will be your total advisor. You can approach them for any academic reasons. There are many lecturers in each branch. Many of them got Ph. Ds and they are well experienced.

Placement are not the best. But EY , federal bank, TCS are some the prominent companies that are coming. The negative thing about placement is most of them are offering marking jobs. So if you are someone who is interested in operations this is not the collage you want to in.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
