SPIT- A great place to be yourself

Overall the college is quite good. There are ups and down for every college out there and this is also one of them but it has recently surpassed VJTI so it's a proud moment.

It is kind of between research driven and actual academia. You would be given opportunities to participate in various tech and non tech competitions and your project topic would be research based, you'd be given chance to research on your topic and then pitch your idea and get it accepted.

Placement is top notch. Every year 100 percent students applying for jobs are placed in various companies. Each year 100+ companies visit the campus for selecting students. You just need to be true to your resume in most of the cases.

There is only a single event called Oculus which happens here. Before there were seperate events for cultural and technical stuffs. But now they have replaced it with single Oculus event which is celebrated for a total of 3 days. Initially the seperate events were much fun as you get more days to enjoy but this is not worth it. Anyway youd enjoy alot too here.

The fee structure is moderate not too expensive but yes minimally feasible. It's about 140k for 1st year and later on it decreases by 10-20k for the three years ahead. General students have to pay complete fee and then later on get 50% reimbursement only if they apply to Chhatrapati shahu Maharaj scheme for generals. And different schemes are there for category Students.

I had opted for Chhatrapati shahu Maharaj scheme which reimbursed 50% of the tution fee amount. The college doesn't offer any scholarship opportunities and the only bet you could consider is the Government schemes for your fee. They have put out alot schemes for the students to ease out the heavy fee charges.

Campus Life is awesome. You'd always find students even during the night. There are people staying for project work over night and complete it. Many play games in the campus area and the campus is quite huge. You'd love to see the botany garden in the campus too. Also the famous emu bird. And many more things.

Not everyone is helpful. But yes, the ones who are helpful would guide you a lot. Some might even share numbers with you so that you can stay in touch.

I was admitted through my CET marks in 2016. I opted for the course because of the vivid opportunities abroad. And also in India. Initially we had to register for cap allotment and then according to merit rank, the college was alloted. There were total of 3 rounds and we had option to accept the college seat or let it go for better options.

Faculties are quite good. Tho not everywhere would you be getting the best. Some are great some are just terrible. Some would just tell you to look over the ppt and get things done. But many are those who would always tell you "Jitna padhauga utna hi puchuga exam me" and they always teach you the ones which would be useful to you after engineering.
