College is very good and it is well reputed specially in Bangalore. Management is quite strict and punctuality is must.
Course Curriculum Overview
Exams are based on semester. Each semester 3 internal tests will be taken and final semester exams are there. The process the quite relevant and fair. They dont give you marks until you deserve hence one has to study and invest time and effort to gain marks.
Placement Experience
MSW has 3 specializations: HR, psychiatry and community social work. Placement is not the very best in this department. Community social work has best placement in the campus in compare to other specialization. They do provide good internship though. College reputation helps in placement and alumni as well.
College Events
There are many events being held during the year. Some technical events are done with collaboration with psychology department. NGO Mela, Article publishing /presentation, lots of workshop for mime, street play and dance. There will be various field work visits. Main cultural festival is ethnic day in which ppl wear ethnic dress and whole day it's all music and dance.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee for the cource is around 70k INR for each semester. Exam fee is around 3k INR. Mode of payment accepted is cash and credit/debit card. There is no additional charge to secure admission. The fee process is quite transparent and they provide proper breakdown of the fee.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have not oped for student loan. College have very limited scholarship options and criteria standerd is very high.
Campus Life
Gender ratio is 6:4. Girls are more then boys in all the departments. No party culture but good crowd. One can find students from not only all corner of India but the whole world. PG library is awesome and there is good collection of online/offline books and journals.
Hostel Facilities
I have not opted for the hostal because it is expensive and lots of rules and regulations to be followed. It is more strict then high school and doesn't feel that you are doing post graduation. The monthly fee is around 10k INR.
Alumni/Alumna
Yearly once there is a tradition of alumni coming to college and connecting with students but it is not convenient for most of the alumni hence the experience is very limited.
Admission
Christ University is a reputed college. I chose MSW with HR specialization because it has the same value as MBA which is expensive course. The application process starts from February and finalised by April. MSW course gives you a holistic education and great exposure. Out of 2 years, 6 month is field work.
Faculty
Faculty of Christ University is quite good and knowledgeable. They have adequate experience and teaching techniques to make students gain the subject knowledge required.They are very punctual and disciplined. They collaborate with other departments to conduct various education programs.
