Remarks

Management is good, college can really do well if it tries to improve its placement rather than increasing the intake.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is very relevant with the current requirements, it is research driven. It helps to give an insight of real world.Exam structure is Trimester pattern with around 8 subjects per trimesterThe case studies on actual industry problem helps to create the ability to deal with real business problems and thus students become better professional.

Placement Experience

3

The placement scenario is good as many braded companies visit college for final placements. The average package is around 10.5. lakhs. The summer internship is also good being a Financial Services student I got the internship in Equity research domain so it really helped me to improve my knowledge by doing practical work.

College Events

4.5

There are many events celebrated some are course specific some are whole college's events.1) All is Well- After the induction of first year2) Committee specific events3) Melange - College's Fest4) Cultural events during every festival5) Competitions

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees is feasible but it has increased for the batch 2020-2022, which is bit expensive if we consider the ROI factor. The fees payment has made completely digital. There is no additional fees paid to the college to secure the admission and the transparency in the fee breakdown is there except for one component that is "Other fees"

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes college do offer scholarships opportunities in the form of reduction in lodging charges. Eligibility criteria is basically low family income.Procedure is they have online form to apply for scholarship on college's website.

Campus Life

Campus Life is really good there are many outdoor games opportunities, running track, football and cricket ground, basketball ground etc are there. Bloomberg lab is the speciality. Gender ratio is really good be it in students or professors.College do organize national level competitions which are really good.

Hostel Facilities

No, there are twin and 3 sharing rooms. The quality of food and hostel facility is really good. Being in cream area of Mumbai it is obvious that it has to be bit expensive. But it is worth taking hostel as it full time program.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is good, they do visit college and provide insight about their journey and try to help us with the possible means whenever we connect with them, there is a dedicated committee also to handle Alumni relations.Seniors are really helpful they guide us well for internship and placement preparations.

Admission

I had cleared the XAT cut off followed by GDPI for the admission in the college. The process includes:1) XAT/CAT/CMAT cut off clearance2) GDPI3) Weightage on work experience, past academic records, gender, diversity etcThe dates are mostly from Feb to Mar end for GDPI. Results are announced in 4 rounds starting from April.

Faculty

4

The faculty are ready to help whenever needed. We can access them via mail or by calling them to clear any sort of doubts. There are many visiting faculties who are currently working or have more than 15 years of work experience, they help us by providing knowledge of industry. There are PhD, CA's who have very strong knowledge of the respective subjects.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the key aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the B.Com course at Sydenham College was its strong foundation in core commerce subjects such as Accounting, Economics, Business Law, and Finance. The structured progression from basic to advanced concepts, along with exposure to subjects like taxation and auditing, made the program particularly appealing for students aiming for careers in finance, CA, CS, or management.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculam is designed for all round development of the student and to make that person an expert in that field, these aspects influeneced me to choose it. Very well, with extra paper of real world application on each subject it ensures that we take something from the course and become industry ready The teachings methods and cirriculam are excellent I don't think any changes are required Exams are all year round, every month and are extremly difficult to deal with, as Xavier's bar is very high.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources
