A very good multicultural university

Politics ruin everything. Meritorious faculty wasn't hired.

Curriculum was good but not very industrial oriented. In our time opportunities to learn new technology were less. Now it has changed a lot. International exposure is given too. But it was quite a mix of electronics and electrical. SCADA was lab was recently established then. Regular symposium do held.

At that time it wasn't that good. Software boom came and bumped. But later it improved a lot. Major MNCs were Siemens, Wilson, TCS, Samsung etc.

Annual functions, IEEE symposium and meets, Algorithm fest, annual Tours, technical conferences etc. Workshops happened. But this is usually managed and organized by students. Staff just coordinate. Have to be a member of the association. Inter department activities were less.

It was affordable back then. I've had merit scholarship as well. Yeah it was a transparent breakup. There was no additional charge back then. Corruption can't be denied though. But to avail additional services yes had to pay extra charges, e. g. computer courses.

I received merit scholarship from the college itself. It was provided to internal students. Sum was around Especially 1200/pa.

Annual sports, and fests do happen. Quite a multicultural university. No religious bias. Friendly open environment. NSS camps and other social activities do help connect with others. Labs were not that good back then now improved. Staff did help archiving targets even outside the campus.

Yes there is a alumni association and they do help current students as well. Can connect with email directory.

I did my schooling from same university. Appeared in entrance exam and got the 2nd preferred stream. Exam was held in April 1997 and final list of admission came in July 1997. Now you can apply online. Fee is around Especially 1000 non refundable. Earlier there was interview.

Teaching staff was very cordial. Prof. Mini Thomas, Prof. Moinuddin, and others were very good at helping achieve your goals. Open for new works. Friendly attitude. But yes politics can damage anyone so be very careful. It's quite a mix religious orientation.
