Course Curriculum Overview

The duration of the course is two years and four semesters. The course deals in safety assessment, bioprocessing, fermentation, marketing, producing, quality management, preservation and food products. The students get trained to fulfil the needs of the food industry sector in the world.

Placement Experience

University has a special placements cell and provides internships which ensure that most of the companies are here to give us jobs or internships. Our placement team trained us right before placements which greatly helped us in facing interviews and GD.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees of my course are INR 20,000 per semester, which includes admission fees, tuition fees and books & stationery. The fees structure is very much less as compared to other colleges in the city. Also to support poor students many government schemes are provided.

Campus Life

Our university located in Darjeeling and are well-equipped with research programs. University has received academic distinctions and recognitions. The whole campus, the academic buildings and the hostels are provided with 24x7 internet facility. All the research scholars (men and women) and pg hostels (boys and girls) are also covered under the campus wi-fi facility.

Admission

To get admission in the course, first of all, students must hold a degree of Honours Graduates in Zoology, Agriculture, Food Science and Nutrition, Microbiology or any other from a government recognized board. Then a student can apply for the course from the college website and college takes an MCQ based entrance exam and an interview. Then the merit list is generated by the college.

Faculty

The faculty members in this campus teach the students in a very innovative and informative method so that each and every topic is clear to the students. They have good command over their respective subjects. The university also encourages and provide everything that they required that's why all staff give their best effort for teaching. They also encourage students in every possible way and help them when they need.

The placement performance in my college is average few student get decent placement otherwise many sales company come and took the student .Around 30 percent student in my class got placement by college other strudents get placed by thereselves there is no role of placement and training department in this.

Shaping My Future: A Comprehensive Review of College Life and Academics

Placement Experience:

After 7th semester companies started coming and there is different criteria for different companies like some company have criteria for more then 8.5 cgpa will be able to seat only in their placement conducting it is totally based on company preferences. The highest package was 9 lpa and average package was 3 lpa. Around 60 percent student get placed in my department.

Companies started coming around 7 th semester there is different criteria for different companies like you have more tan nine cgpa then you are eligible for that particular company. Around 50 percent people in my class get placed . Companies like TCS ,wipro EY are mass hiring company.

The life in HITK

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placement in cse, it ,ece and sometimes elec branches. The others dpt also offers a quite unique variety of placements from different companies. Nearly 60 percent of the students have been placed in this year and others are still on board for a positive response.

Placement Experience:

Here students become eligible to sit in campus placement from 6th semester. Many companies come here. The average package here is 5 lakhs and the highest here is 20 lakhs it's gone.Here 95% of the students get placement.My plan is to do M.Tech after completing my degree.

My college life

I apply for other colleges also as I didn't get much facilities there like comprehensive studying library, canteens facilities, etc. I don't get rejection from the other colleges that I have applied the reasons behind not choosing those is the facilities that I didn't found . The admission process was online; we needed to fill out our details through portals, and there was a specific verification date when we called regarding the verification of our application. After that, if everything was okay, then our admission was confirmed. Then, after a few months, standalone admission was introduced in my college, which helped many students get their pending admission.
