Course Curriculum Overview
Being an English course, our curriculum focused on educating us in all aspects of the English language, its history and culture. We learned much about poetry and prose. Our first sem focused on grammar and proper writing skills, which are essential to anyone. In our second sem, we read many poems written by poets around the world and from India.
Placement Experience
Most of our career options are creative professions such as blogging, working in a publishing house, becoming an academic and pursuing further education in the subject, becoming a writer or a journalist or getting into Multi-Media Communication.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Being an open university, KKHSOU is comparitively cheaper than most colleges. For my course, I payed just over 5500 for my first year of two semesters combined. Each individual semester is aroung 2500 Rs. and I think only one or two semesters have additional fees for a certificate.
Campus Life
Being an open univeristy, we do not have such facilities to my knowledge and if they are there then I have not used them. KKHSOU has students from all paths of life. There is not that much interaction among us due to the fact that we learn from our homes and not in conventional classrooms but it is very diverse.
Hostel Facilities
KKHSOU is an open university and offers distance learning. This enabled me to have a good education from my home and without spending thousands on hostels and PGs and food. It's efficient and comfortable. I only have to appear for exams at the university.
Admission
The univeristy requires that you have qualifying marks in 10+2 from a council or board recognized by UGC. Another option for admission is that it also requires that you have a Diploma passed from any polytechnics branch.
Faculty
Our faculty is always interested in teaching us. It seems like they enjoy teaching us and enabling us to grow and expand at our own pace in the language and its culture. They are well read and are always ready to help us if we ask for it.
