Course Curriculum Overview

MA English is a 2 year postgraduate course which covers subjects like pedagogy, theories, Literature in English, American Literature, Study of a Genre, Critical Theory,etc. The course gives you detailed knowledge of the language and enhances various skills.

Placement Experience

Unfortunately the institute does not provide any internships and placements. This had to be done on our own . The students found jobs in various sectors like Publishing, Education, Theatre, Corporate, Advertising, Writing etc. They can find opportunities in private and public sector.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was affordable and low cost along with the scholarships provided to the students. These scholarships are available to all classes. The feasible fee structure allows many students to attend college.

Campus Life

The college organised quite happening events. Various annual programs, cultural events, Durga Pooja, world environment day, world health day are celebrated annually. These are the best way to bring out the talents in children which motivates them.

Admission

I simply filled an online form for my admission with all the necessary details. You must read the instructions before filling the form because no changes in the form will be entertained later on. You must also upload the scanned documents. The admission will be based upon the merit list or entrance exam conducted by the college.

Faculty

The faculty was highly professional, challenging, alive, motivating and innovative. They had a warm and friendly nature. They believed in their students and encouraged them to perform better every time.

Remarks:

The infrastructure of this college is under development. One should not expect much facilities here because the college was established in 2016 and the first batch has not passed out yet. The laboratories are not up to the mark as there are less number of instruments. However there is a central library which is pretty good. There are projectors in most of the classrooms. The thing one can appreciate here is the cleanliness, whether in the classrooms or in the hostels or in the canteen.

Remarks:

First of all i liked the discipline of the college. And its student friendly environment. And the most that i like in this college is the friendly behaviour from the faculty as well as the non teaching staff. I love our college library. And love to spend time in the library studying books or even studying online through college computers. Overall the study environment is also very good.

Remarks:

The course I have opted for has one of the best faculties in this college over West Bengal. We have 2 Ieee student society in this college in which students can easily be part of and enhance their skills. The placement cell of our college is highly reputed as they always bring in the best companies for campussing. (Including core companies). We have excellent lab facilities where we can work upon our projects. From this college numerous students have participated in hackathons( including national levels) and bagged prestigious positions. We have an MHRD facilitated research lab.

A Nice Option for Graduation

The Environment of the college is safe for girls and the college takes great care in terms of academics. The faculty is more or less good and I've been hearing good things about the college and it's excellence from its seniors. Loreto college Kolkata is a girl's college known for its greenery, cleanliness and zeal for academic excellence. The college building is always spick and span, the staff and faculty are very helpful however the dress code and discipline might be areas of concern for some. The forms for undergraduate admissions are available right after the results are declared. There are some streams for which no entrance exams like history, are conducted while for some like geography exams are compulsory. These details are mentioned in the college website. I applied for Bachelor's in History which was a stream eligible for direct admission. The forms were available online and a printed copy was to be submitted in the college office. The results were available online after a week. I chose the college as many of my family members have attended it and have said positive things about it.
