Course Curriculum Overview

Course structure is good. I had studied CBCS system. In this curriculum i got many opportunities to study the side subjects excluding economics and all you get is the optional courses. You have all the choices to select your topic. Also there is grading system.

Placement Experience

There are many opportunities for placements and jobs. Our college have an internship cell. Many companies come for placements. But main are for B.Com and for economics students only. My friend got a 14lacs package. Even I got a good package. So there are many opportunities. Major companies coming are delloite, wipro, Infosys etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is very nominal i gave only 17000 per annum. In our college you can see students belonging to different sections of society. All you have to pay are feasible fees and also scholarship are also there for any financial help.

Campus Life

Everything is really good. My college is in top of all lists. Dramatic society is too good which was inagaurated by Mr. Imtiaz Ali. We have dance societies, fashion societies, debating societies which are very well known in our college.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes there is alumni association. They are very helpful in guiding about placements and internships. They provide us all the information and also some of our alumni have their own industries and business so they give opportunities to new students.

Admission

My admission into this college was a very memorable experience. I mean it was very difficult. The cutoff goes in very high. The first merit list closed at around 94%. I secured 82% so I had to wait for very long. I got admisison in the spot counselling.

Faculty

All faculties are highly educated and very well known in their area. All professor are at least Ph.D. holder. They have experience of teaching. Faculties are there to support you morally. All professor have good knowledge.

GO FOR IT!!

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are several prospects, especially peer-to-peer counseling, where you get a mentor. We call it mentor mentee program. So, there will be groups of students, and each group will have a mentor who helps you whenever you face any issues whether in real life or in your academic journey. They’re always there for you. There are also remedial classes, and extracurricular activities are included in the curriculum. You even get the freedom to choose what you want to pursue creatively, like joining poetry clubs and similar groups. Right now, I’m at Banaras University, and the curriculum here is really good. We have sessions on public speaking, how to conduct interviews, and many other practical skills. These are highly commendable because they help you in professional situations like the one I’m in now. However, I would say that teachers could be a bit more active with electronic tools like using PPT presentations or audio-visual methods instead long lecture sessions. As for exams, I wouldn’t say they’re too difficult because there are many weekly assessments and sessionals, which actually help you evaluate yourself better.

The placements in our college is decent. The average salary package a student used to get from our college was around 4lakhs to 5 lakhs per annum. Mainly they used to bring non IT companies to the IT students. It was rare that IT companies used to comer in bulk.

Placement are not so good but I can confirm you that if you are good in studies then you will have a min package of 50LPA .Every pharma companies in india or out india contains our alumnis as well as you will get a polite and respectful behaviour in every company after knowing you r passed out from Iopj .

This is the oldest Pharmacy college in India

Remarks:

The college is a good college it is situated beside the district hospital and there is morgue beside it. So students will se many dead bodies been taken. This may be problem for weak heart students. But I thing for a pharmacists he/she should be able to see dead bodies.

Remarks:

Institute of Pharmacy, Jalpaiguri is the 1st Pharmacy college in Asia. This is the only one government college in West Bengal. Labs infrastructure is very poor. 100% Placement are done. Our college is very good Pharmacy college in India.
