Course Curriculum Overview

The course duration is of 3 years. The candidate should have studied English as a compulsory subject in 10+2 from any recognized board with 50% of marks.The minimum age to enroll in the course is 17 years to 21 years.

Placement Experience

The placement cell is very active, they keep in touch with the market trend. They try and get the students to the best in the industry with a good pay scale. The students also try and pass the campus interview at their best.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is not expensive at all. Some students do take loan and pay the fees according the semester wise. The college is also having scholarships programs which they run and 10% of the students to do their best and get themselves enroll.

Campus Life

The college keep organizing lot of extra curricular activities. The students take part in the activities with lots of enthusiasm, the teachers are also part of some of the activities. So the teachers and students bond themselves together.

Placement Experience:

College does provide internship opportunities both through the placement cell as well as department faculty. Semester 5 and Semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Average package is about 5.5 lakh per annum for microbiology course. Although placement percentage is on the lower side majority of students go for higher studies. Many prepare for exams like GATE, IIT JAM, etc.

college placements are good in this college with a number of good financial and consultancy firms coming in with new gen companies as well in the service and sales industry. moreoever getting a good placement in a top financial or consultancy placement requires a POR in a good society as a criteria, its not really required but adds to your chances of getting it. moreover you require to participate in a number of case study competitions for the same as well. my plans after graduation is probably working for a year or two after which i plan on doing my MBA. around 50-60% who apply get a placement.

My experience at St. Xavier's

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course theory helps us gain a solid understanding of the subject matter. Film studies and Mass Communication theory classes has laid down the foundation of the subject- from what is a shot and the kinds of shots and angles, to the beginning of radio in India and essays by CS Pierce and John Berger. The course also includes practical classes in the sound labs, editing labs and we will learn to use a camera, as one of the things we will have to do in this course is make films of our own.
