Course Curriculum Overview

The central aim of the course is to prepare students for the practice of theatre. The most important intention of the course is the development of the intangible concept of creative imagination and its expression within the collective framework of a group.

Placement Experience

Training in the School is based on a thorough, comprehensive, and carefully planned syllabus that covers every aspect of theatre from theory to practice over three years, and the results are put to the test before a wide audience. The teachers recommend us to various eminent directors further.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As the institute is government-aided, the fee for 3 years is pretty nominal. There is a basic college fee and tuition fee which is pretty nominal. The additional charges include that of makeup kits, transportation, etc.

Campus Life

There is a video audio library accompanied by performing spaces. National School of Drama has four performing spaces available on campus for the staging of its productions. These performing spaces are not commercial but function in the interest of academic activities and programs run by the School.

Admission

The theater has always appealed to me and performing arts was my dream. I enrolled myself in NSD after I had performed in 6 theater productions which is the minimum eligibility criteria. I gave a preliminary audition test with a workshop and a final fitness test which I qualified.

Faculty

The teachers who taught us were amongst the best of the theater artists. Many of them have even worked with some of the eminent personalities from the field and were really experienced and knowledgeable.

I feel like the curriculum is a little out dated and boring but due to a good faculty it makes the course more worthwhile The curriculum is very text based and less practical and more emphasis on bookish knowledge persists still .

Placement Experience:

Students after completing third year are eligible for placement. Placements start before starting of fourth year, and it requires students to have no backlogs in any subjects. However companies can imply their own rules to filter the students such as minimum CGPA criteria. But placements of our college is one of the best placement for a non-IIT college, despite having so many student intake.
