Remarks

The college is improving its standards. It has become type first IIEST in India and very soon it will be par with IITs.

Entrance Preview

WBJEE & NATAWBJEE rank - 8588 NATA score- 116. This is the best college offereing Architecture under WBJEE.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is of 5 yrs. with 6 months of internship in the 9th semester and and a final thesis in the 10th.

Internships Opportunities

In Architecture, we have to individually apply for internships in any Architectural firm. The stipend varies from 5000 to 15000 according to location.

Placement Experience

Campussing is not good for Architecture students. Only two companies come - L&T and M. N. Dastur. However getting a job ain't that difficult. Freshers can apply to Architectural firms directly. Package: 20-25k per month.

College Events

Techincal fest - Instruo. Several colleges participate from all over Bengal with a number of inter college competitions. The fest is organised by the students and for the students. Cultural fest- RebecaA 4 day fest filled with fun and frolic, host and guest performances, participation from various colleges.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible. It was 11000 per semester (only Academic). However the fees has increased since the college got upgraded, Apart from this the mess fees for hostel accomodation was 1700 per month.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

There are a number of scholarships based on merit which varies from dept to dept. Ther is one based on Higher secondary marks, which I had availed. The forms will be available from West bengal higher secondary website.

Campus Life

There are a number of clubs or groups dedicated to co-curricular ctivities, loke dance, eastern and western music, quiz, photography, dramatics, etc. They take part in many intercollege fests.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facilities are fine but not great. There are two girls hostel. 1 for 1st years and the other for 2nd to 5th years. Shared rooms till 2nd year. Mess fees for hostel accomodation was 1700 per month.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

The Alumni and senior students are also very helpful. They have been supporting the college in times of need. There is an Alumni Association (GAABESU)

Exam Structure

There are two exams per semester- Mid term and final semester. Apart from this a few class tests once in a month. Sessional submissions happen every week.

The Faculty is great. They have good professors, who are ready to help you with whatever is required.

business are very very very good because one of my senior now work in London from and other. I know you are Senior big form of Kolkata like (Dulal) Mukherjee architect or other, so no doubt. about placement plan are very clear and finish course one year or two year do work in Good decorated firm then I'm open something. My office architecture form. Every student get placement because an architecture, no poor students survive so every students are good and get placement.

Placement Experience:

so if we talk about placements, then its currently not good but it does not means that placement is totally zero . it varies every year but currently its going down. so after 3rd year you can apply for internships and placements . and if you are in 1st or 2nd year then you can apply for free or paid internships to learn more and more to build you cv. Highest package offered was 2.68 crore rupees per annum and average package is around 18 - 20 lakhs rupees per annum. companies participated in last session was 61 and total offers made were 700. number of international offers were 19 (6 offers were more than 1 crore per annum). number of students placed in 2023 were 1750. popular recruiters were ITC limited, goldman, sachs, HUL . so those who dont get any job or they are not placed , they basically continue to become enterpreneur. my plans after completing my degree to become a famous architect.

IIT Kharagpur, An insight.

Remarks:

Lots of Freedom. Depends on the student to use it wisely. The college does not have intime, hence people can roam around anywhere nearly any time. This increases the safely issue. Also, due to too much feeedom, students end up in substanxe abuse quite often. It is upto the student to wisely go about the utilise the freedom to build good skill sets and interact.

Know Your Choice

Remarks:

Being a private college under a branding, an environment of class segregation is created throughout the college which is not good for the mental health of students who take admission on the basis of merit. The class segregation affects the academics of the students as well. There is one good thing. There is a faculty feedback system that helps record the grievances of students regarding the teaching staffs and facilititates required measures to change the situation.

Very good college, remarkable standard of education , research and placement scenario, all facilities available , from pan shop to C C D hospital is very good and well maintained for any king of emergency, one of the best hostek rooms and transport facilites are available here , so overall experience is really good

Details Review of IIEST Shibpur

The location of the college is very good because it is situated only 5 km from the Howrah station and 8 km from Kolkata station which makes very easy travel to your college. It is very famous college and also MHRD tagged college for INI. its nirf ranking is very descent (49). Which better than the most nits. The most honest and unbiased review of IIEST Shibpur

Candidate qualifying JEE Mains followed by JOSAA and CSAB counselling are eligible to join the course. One appeared and has qualified this exam has go through counselling process and on the basis of his/her respective all India and category ranks they will be provided their most deserving branch according to their filled preferences. One can find the application form on the Jee Mains website that is conducted by NTA every year, this exam is a national level exam for entrance in engineering colleges. Reservation is there on seats in the colleges and in the cutoffs according to center's policy to students of different category and PWD students. After counselling the next thing is done is physical reporting to the allotted colleges, in IIEST fee payment during admission is done using cards and there is no portal for online payment at the ease of home, and this need to be improved in admission process....Read More
