Course Curriculum Overview
I am interested in designing of regions, I was good in sketing that's why I chose architecture and Regional Planning as my department. It consists of 3 theory subjects and 3 practicals in first year .
Internships Opportunities
Every student had to do a intership of 6 months of their respective branch in their pre-final year. Students earn a good amount of money form these internship.You Just have to ready with you portfolio and show youe enthusiasm of work for them
Placement Experience
After 7 semesters students are eligible to sit in placement exams. Approx. 350-400 company visit our college for recruitment. Highest package of 2024-25 session is 2.18 crore and maintaining of a average package of 18LPA .
Fees and Financial Aid
For each semester, tution fees is Rs. 100000 and fees for hostel and mess is is Rs 36000. If you belongs from reservation category like obc,sc,st then you have tution fees waiver option. If you are from general, ews , obc you have to submit ITR(Income tax certificate). If your family income is less than 1 lakhs then you tution fees will be free. If your family income is less than 5 lakh buy greater than 1 lakhs then you 33% of tution fees will be off. If you category belongs to sc/st then your tution fees will be off.
Campus Life
Clubs and societies of IIT Kharagpur are very active, they conduct many events yearly. IIT Kharagpur have 3 fests, first kshitij(technical fest) which helps in December, Second shourya(sports fest) , which helps in October third and biggest fest is Spring fest(cultural fest) , which helps in January for 3 days
Hostel Facilities
In first year, every student have given Lal Bahadur Shastri Hall of Residence for 1 year . Every room consists of table, chair, bed, fan, cupboard, lan port. For every students. 3 students stays in one room. Mess is better than other colleges mess food.
Admission
I was preparing for jee advance, after qualifying it was getting just 2 options , IIT bhu architecture or IIT Kharagpur architecture. And nirf , Qs world ranking, placement status shows the that IIT Kharagpur will be the best option.
Faculty
Every subject have there own subject teacher, they are master in their domain. Except some teachers, many teachers are are helping in nature. But some teachers are egoistic, they taunt at you that they will fail in their subject of you don't respect him or follow they rules
Night Life
Many students in IIT Kharagpur are night owls, they study in late night and many students makes group for nighout in the campus. At night every Halls nights canteen stay opens . Many restaurants even stays Opens till 4 am.
