Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is up to date. The curriculum has a compulsory internship during the tenure of the course. However the college encourages two internships to get hands on professional experience from the industry itself.

Placement Experience

The college has the Career Development Centre (CDC), which guides the students to develop the students' personality and skills through placement training. We can apply for the internship/job online. The shortlisted students then can appear for the pre-placement tests or interview which will be conducted in the campus. I got my first internship through this process. The overall experience was a bit terrifying but

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is ?8,33,900/- for my course, which is ?2.08 lakhs per year.Which is pretty expensive for me as I belong to a middle class family. However I'm rewarded with Merit-cum-Means Scholarship which exempts me from the payment of tuition fees and is such a relief for myself and my family.

Campus Life

The college had students from all over the country. The college hosts its Techno-Cultural fest called Petrichor. During this fest there are many events and workshops organized which is witnessed by enthusiasts from Kerala and rest of the country.The college also has it own YouTube channel called "muse". The students creation of science and technology is updated on this platform frequently.

Hostel Facilities

The college has separate hostels for both girls and boys. The accommodation is based on two-sharing basis which is really good. And the best thing is that the hostel is in close proximity to the college building. One drawback is that the hostel is not fully wifi enabled and is available only in the common area.

Admission

My passion in Computer Science helped me to purse a course in Computer Science & Engineering. First I had to apply on the college's website and upload the documents. However the later selection was based on the basis of JEE Advanced scores. Which was infact very tough to crack. But I'm glad to have been selected IIT Palakkad, as it is one of the really good IIT here in Kerala.

Faculty

The college has well qualified faculty for every course. The teachers are expertise in their respective discipline and they never fail to deliver quality lectures every single time. There are several talks and lectures held throughout the academic year by eminent people and industry experts which surely is an advantage for the students.

A Decent College for BSc chemistry students

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choosed this degree for me to pursue higher studies in uk or foreign country to study cosmetics related field. So for that bsc chemistry degree must have But this curriculum doesn't teach something base to that I think so.. For further studies the teachers need improvement to teach certain topics some teachers didn't even prepare to study students and lab safety is not in the lab.Because of the teaching the portions are done in last minutes and often exams are difficult in major subjects so they need to improve their study methods and often approach students nicely..

Placement Experience:

Placements cells are supportive in terms of networking with different companies and are readily active for the students competing in getting internships and placements. The college has a tie up with different companies like Infosys , Wipro , Deloitte , IBM , NVIDIA , Deshaw Private Limited etc. Students become eligible from semester 5 onwards for on campus placements. The offers made by these companies are 8 LPA to 9 LPA by deloitte , innfosys , and IBM but the highest package is being offered by Deshaw and NVIDIA that is 60 LPA and 47 LPA. The average package is around 11 LPA and the percentage of students getting placed are above 80%. My plan after getting the degree is to work for an IT Company to get the hands on knowledge about what the current technologies demand and get experienced in that and work further upon it.

Placement Experience:

From semester 5 the opportunity to get a job is out there. Many companies comes to interview and they swlect the apt ones. Sun, Mahendra etc are some of the companies i remember. The highesr package for freshers is like 15000 a month. There is a high percentage of students getting placements its 80-85%.My plan is to study masters.

Good Placement actually depends upon the students only. The crowd inside the college should be highly capable and enthusiastic for learning. The problem at XIME is not the placement but the crowd and quality of students. The college have proper placements process. Centralized placements across the three campuses are followed. Although students need to pass certain criteria to sit in the placements such as maintaining a particular GPA.
