Course Curriculum Overview

4

As I am pursuing my third year here the first two years was basic Engineering stuffs that's a bore and real marine related subjects started from third year that was so so important and training related to ship machines like working on it and dismantling it was also taken place. If one was appearing for campus interviews they can take coaching for aptitude tests and Personality tests from college itself. Shipyard visits and harbour vists where also available.

Placement Experience

3.5

Companies like Maersk line they recuirted about 50 students, sea team management took 4 students and goodwood shipping, chevron shipping, NYK line, sembcorp marine, etc. Mostly companies at starting look for GPA percentage and then shortlist according with aptitude and Personality test(system and pen based) performance and then some include group discussions and two staged personal interviews with good CV is mainly required. Mostly around 50 to 60% students placed everyyear that may vary with companies interest and college placement department do seek companies and do sacleup like programmes to increase the performance of students.

College Events

4

Mostly Functions like Pongal, Onam, Holi, telugu new year is celebrated and inter-maritime colleges sports is conducted every year and culutral events were also celebrated. Then technically every department conducts program separately every year like marine traffice for Marine Engineering students from different colleges and navinautics for nauctical science students everyyear once.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Transparency is there. But fee for maritime courses in all colleges is bit high than compared to other courses I paid around 3. 5 laks per year like three terms all modes like neft, upi, cash, dd all modes where accepted. Additional fees that are not included are semester exam fees around 4. 5 k every semester separately. Securing admission dosen't really require fee but paying is conformation.

Fees and Financial Aid

Many scholarships was availble like first graduate, minority, girl child, serviceman, meritorious, etc was available starting of each year student can apply though online and through adminstration departments in college itself. Around 30 k will be reduced from anuall fee of the student who applied. Bank loan to pay student fee was availble not through college but we can get all the documents to get verified from college. We can apply to online scholarship schemes too govt provided. Some lucky can get shipping company provided scholarship too that we have to meet criteria that college provides and get vertified takes time though.

Campus Life

3.5

Boys 50:10 girls so every year a new student council leader mess commitee leader academic leader will be available many stuff like nss ncc red cross and cultural teams were there. Students from many states is studying here so and some courses foreign students exchange programmes was also available here anti ragging squad and harrasment against sexual assault punishable acts was informed before. Upper middle class and so students mostly opt this course no much politics I've seen in my time period. Most of indoor and outdoor sports gym was present inside college mecahnical labs electrical labs also there.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

DG's courses like Marine Engineering and nautical science require compulsory hostel stay inordee to train for sea going professional. In hostel rooms with bunker beds like four of them in each room and accommodations and food fees all included in overal fee. Like 40k in each semester food is never better in hostels.

Alumni/Alumna

Most of them still stay in touch because of exams and stuff for promoting to officer level after completion of course so all share stuff like that.

Admission

I was fascinated by the sea and ships from my childhood itself and the curiosity about how machieries work in sea made me choose this course. When I was pursuing my 12th grade I chose this collegd by a friend of mine who studied there before and I've submitted form nearly February of 2017 that is ending of my 12th grade and paid admission fee around 50k and called for entrance test at the same time followed by medical tests for ongoing sea and by passing all those with PCM 60 % and English 75% marks I've got seat.

Faculty

4

Mainly there will be 7 hrs per day that includes labs. Most of the core and important subjects will be taken by Chief Engineers who worked on ship more than 30 years and normal enginnering subjects will be taken by qualified faculties that is too bore remaining was awesome.

Placement Experience:

Students at Bharath University generally become eligible for campus placements starting from their 7th semester. The university maintains a strong placement record, with approximately 93% to 94% of students getting placed in recent cycles. Over 220 companies typically visit the campus, including top recruiters like Amazon, Cognizant, and TCS. While the highest package has reached ?27 LPA, the average package usually stands around ?4.5 LPA. After graduation, many students secure roles in technical and management domains or pursue higher studies but I will try for deffenc and bharath university as NCC
