Remarks

A little strict attendance percentage is high. Great place otherwise to learn new things and grow and develop your skill, talent and knowledge.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum is relavant and psychology is research driven, compulsory research in 3rd year. Psychology and English were mostly theory based. Lab classes happen for psychology. Music subjects include theory subjects and practicals in the form of performances. Music directed towards understanding music more deeply rather than a commercial approach. On campus placements available towards the end of 3rd year. No industrial visits organized.

Placement Experience

3.5

No idea about placements because haven't graduated yet. Internships are compulsory in most courses. Some internships available on campus. Most are outside internships based on your course.

College Events

5

I have a fests by some or the other department every month and there's always something happening on campus. I have competetive fests, celebratory fests as ethnic day. I have fests to show case different elements of a department when required. Participation is huge.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Accepts cheque and online payment methods. No additional fees. It is feasible for most courses especially if a resident of Karnataka. They are transparent about fee breakdown. They even offer scholarships for those who score well and have the necessary attendance. Fee concessions offered for those that need it.

Fees and Financial Aid

They college offers scholarships for 2nd and 3rd year students who have scored above 75% in all semesters and have an attendance percentage above 85% in each semester. Usually the scholarship is for 5000 rupees.

Campus Life

4.5

Different courses have different gender ratio so can't say. Many clubs and associations that we can join and contribute to like music teams/theatre clubs/choir/environment club/street play/social change clubs etc. They are very good for productive activities. Many workshops and programs organized throughout the year. Sports is very much encouraged - football, hockey, cricket etc. Many competitions and programs organized within the departments. Student Diversity is vast and extensive. Different people from different countries, cultures, walks of life all come together here.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors in my course are extremely supportive and helpful. They guide the juniors on what will help them. A lot of the club's require you to work with your seniors so there is no divide.

Admission

Only BA triple major with Western Classical Music, Psychology and English, all subjects that I wanted to pursue. I have to apply for it online and choose a date for the selction process - happens in April and May. For this course there were audiotions for either vocals or piano - our choice of major and had to write a generic essay and then there was interview. If selected then fee has to be paid in the next week on a date of your choice.

Faculty

4

Music - 4 Faculty - age 30 and above. Psychology - tentatively 30 teachers - age 25 above. English - tentatively 30 teachers - age 25 above. Almost all of them hold PhD or are studying for their PhD and have many published articles. Most of them are good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because of the dual degree that it has to offer, christ is one of the very few institutions that offer dual degree and allow you to explore both the subjects or gain combined knowledge of both the subjects. The curriculum is very up to date with subjects that relate to real world problems. What i like the most about my curriculum is the Learner centric approach where they divide the class into halves so that the teacher student ratio can be maintained in order to achieve full efficiency. One area of improvement can be inculcating more soft skills traininng into it.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible to sit for placement in their final years. The companies which comes for the placement are deloitte, goldmanSachs, amazon and many more reputed companies. And they do make many offers. The highest package reports around 30 LPA and the average goes on around 3 to 4.5 LPA. Around 70-90 percent get placements. My plans is to pursue higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good. Students arw given chances to take exams and get job opportunities from there. Field trips and internships, orientations, talk shows are organized to prepare students further before stepping out for jobs. They can either take the placements they get or opt for higher studies, which is what i am doing as a degree in psychology alone does not grant a wide scope in the jobs spectrum.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements towards the final semester of their course. Currently, I have only been using the help of my faculty for internship opportunities, since I am not looking for placements. But they have connections with big names in the communication sector, and they often have personalities coming in to give talks and interact with the students. A great number of students opt for placements and approximately 90% of them do end up getting posted at really good companies. Others choose to continue with higher education. My plan after receiving my degree would be to take up a diploma in literature in the UK, while simultaneously finding myself a position at a good publishing house there.

Placement Experience:

From my seniors, I hear that 20/30 % of students from our college get placed. But now being in my final sem I know the reality. For covid and lockdown, the placement sector has been badly hit. Only a handful of companies came this year (5/6 companies). 4/5 people from our batch are placed but no placement for the big chunk of people. From 5th sem students become eligible for placements but in 5th sem, no company came to our college for placement this year. Only in the 6th sem, the placement cell started. Companies that visited till now ( some of them came to take interns and didn't offer full-time jobs) 1) Clevertize, 2) Social Panga, 3) Robert Bosch GmbH, 4) Saatchi & Saatchi, 5) Publicis, 6)PR Pundit, 7) McKinsey, 8) Edsol Edtech, 9) Momo Media, 10) MSL, 11) Genesis BC, Offers: 1.5-3 LPA (average). I plan to send CVs personally to companies through LINKEDIN and other job search platforms because the college hasn't provided us with good placement offers as claimed.
