Remarks

St. Thomas college is a great place to study. Faculty and infrastructure is great. Everything is strict.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Courses and curriculum are moderated by Mahatma Gandhi university. Till my year it was not job oriented course. It is focused on research. Also college had it's own program to develop skills required in industries such as training and industrial visits. Also project work will help students to gain more skills.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placement of college is good. In our department companies like MRF and pharmaceutical industries come for recruiting. It companies like TCS, INFOSYS will recurit from other departments. Also companies will conduct aptitude test as a first step for selection. After that selcted candidates will go through group discussion and interview. Based on performance they will be selected.

College Events

4

College day and arts days are the main events. All the the cultrual and art items are presentated on this day. Also interdepartmental competition are conducted. Lot of programs will be there. Other that sports day is celebrated. Also each department have their own days. Chemistry department have an yearly event called SCIENTIA.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is an aided college and therefore fee is low in aided department. 3 year Science courses can completed under 10000?. There is no admission fee for courses. If you can you can pay building funds(not mandatory) Fee in self finance is in high and a semester will cost more than 10000?.

Fees and Financial Aid

I got post matric scholarship scholarship. It is a scholarship from central government. We have to apply it by ourself and the documents are submitted at college. Later they process it. It is an amount of 6000?.

Campus Life

4.5

It is a men's college and majority students are male. PG course have female students. Students from all religions and communities attend there. There are no student dorm or parties. Political groups are banned from college. Gropus like NSS and NCC are there.

Hostel Facilities

3

No. I was a day scholar. I go from home. But hostel fees are cheap. Hoste rooms are good. All facilities are available except bath attached rooms. Foods are hygiene and good. Common hall with TV is there. Nearly 2000? is the monthly rent.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors will help us to get jobs if we want. Also they help us to know about higher courses available there.

Admission

I opted for bachelors in chemistry. Degree in Chemistry had open many doors for my career. I got admission by getting a recommendation from a politician in palai area. They reason I choose this college was because this one near to me and I can attend as a day scholar. Also chemistry department well known and recognised by others. Professor are famous and have lot of publications and research. Also the campus is big. So many activities to do in free time. Everyone is friendly and helpful.

4.5

There are 9 professors in department. All of them have phd in chemistry. Many of them have published many books and papers on the subject. Most of them are aged between 30 and 50. Head of department is had his phd from germany. All of them are research based. They also have some industry exposure.

Little Flower Institute of Social Sciences and Health - [LISSAH], Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Psychology)
Reviewed on Nov 18, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is almost best. Curriculum doesn't influenced me in deciding this course. Curriculum should add internships. Currently there is no mandatory internship, if students are interested they can do internship during vacations. As we are learning psychology which need to be practiced in real world settings, curriculum must include real world training to help students understand things more effectively. Currently intervel between exams are non existent. Internal exams, then semester exams, you blink once, next internal exams, followed by semester exams. Syllabus is understandable, can learn if you try. Exams are also manageable. Real world examples and stories can be included in teaching methods, as psychology is related to humans and human interaction, to get better grasp of concepts. Rather than focusing on passing exam, should focus on the concepts and understand them in-depth. There are a lot of theories to study by heart. And there are many repetitive topics that overlap, but in different semesters.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel in love with mathematics in plus two time. The coursee are more application based when compared to other. Out college being an autonomous college has good grip to keep up to the level of good education. Overall teaching methods and syllabus are very good. Frequency of exams are troublesome during the last time of year because all the programmes like youth festival annual day etc come together

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is Bsc Biotechnology. It is a research associated course. Its main scope is in research. But in every industry let it be medical or industrial a biotechnologist is required. I would like more practical knowledge than theory knowledge in this course as it is needed to be implemented in labs hands on experience is essential. Exams are conducted every 6 months as semester. Class tests and model exams are conducted frequently. Assignments, projects, seminar ,etc.. are given every month.
