Remarks

The College Management has done a fantastic job and which is proved that Podar college was the top commerce college in Mumbai. The classes were well maintained and the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. To sum up, I will say "PROUD TO BE A PODARITE".

Entrance Preview

I had joined Podar College for my Commerce graduation since the First Year of Junior College (FYJC). I was in the same college till I completed my graduation i.e. Bachelors of Commerce (B.Com) in 2009. For pursuing this course, there is no need to appear for any entrance exams.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

During my junior college, I had selected German language as my second language. During my graduation, in SY BCom, I had selected Advertising and in my TY BCom I had selected Export Marketing.

Internships Opportunities

I had pursued normal Bachelors of Commerce course during my college. This was a course wherein we did not get any opportunity to work as an intern with any firm / company or MNC. So, if we donot get an opportunity for internship, cannot comment on the stipend offered.

Placement Experience

3

We had a placement cell in our college. Companies like Deloitte, KPMG and such other multi national companies had come to our college for placements. But, the opportunities offered were not very interesting and the packages offered were average packages.

College Events

4.5

There were a lot of festivals celebrated in our college. The major ones I remember were ENIGMA and RAPPORT. Enigma was a inter-college event wherein other colleges participated and the duration of this event was 2-3 days. On the other had, RAPPORT was an inter-college festival organised by the students of TYBCom and was only for the college students. The duration of this festival was 5 days. I had participated only in the RAPPORT festival.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The college fees were feasible. It weren't expensive. It is very difficult to recollect the college fees paid for all the five years as this was a long time ago. But, as compared to other colleges it was very much nominal.

Fees and Financial Aid

There were scholarships offered by the college but I am not aware of any of those. I wasnot eligible so didnt get a chance to find out more about the scholarships being offered.

Campus Life

3

Campus life was very happening. There is a famous spot called as "katta' just outside our college. I did not participated in extra curricular activities so I cannot comment on the same.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel facilities were not available for the students. There was a canteen on the ground floor of our campus and it was a pretty small canteen as compared to other colleges. The food menu and the quality of the food was average.

Alumni/Alumna

The network of alumni and senior students was very poor. There were not any sources or ways to connect to them and build our network. Being a shy kinda guy, I hardly interacted with my seniors. But, overall, the seniors were very helpful and had a great time with them during the college festival.

Exam Structure

Exam structure was pretty normal. It did not leave us with a hectic day. It was pretty much chilled out.

Faculty

4

The faculty of the college was amazing. They were highly educated and had kept themselves upto date with all the past and present trends. The quality of teaching was good and the professors were very helpful through out our college duration. They always had given us time for our queries and never got frustrated if we asked them the same question twice. We have learnt a lot from them and they play a major role in our personal development.

The placement is the best in its segment. It ranges from 5-6 lakhs all the way upto 21-23 lakhs as per recent placement report of the college. The placement cell helps a lot in getting the placement for the students of the last sem that is 6th sem in most of the courses. Almost 30% students gets placed every year in various profiles like product management, investment banking, private equity, sales, marketing, etc.

As I'm a CS student, I have started this course as medium for my graduation for doing college. i barely go to college as being focused on my other course. But as far as I've seen the faculties must improve some aspects of the curriculum and have a great relationship with students, when the student is unable to speak in any internals the faculties must not only listen but sometimes correct them with a little push which might help them and complete there work
