Remarks

All find a no of companies for placement. there is a special placement cell to train the students before they actually go for their placement interview. All get all the help u need but in the end it will all be decided on how u performed in ur academics and ur knowledge on ur field. You can check out the names of companies of the colleges website. Scope for growth: definitely yes if u want to grow. the topics ull learn in college academics will b be enough if u want to go deep into ur field. All have to get sources n learn as much as u can. sources can be easily found with the help of faculties and the hod cell responsible for such stuffs.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Excellent! No matter which branch you are in, lack of facilities is never going to be a problem, unless you expect wifi which is not provided to students (yes even in this age!). No surprises there, as they are known for exorbitant fees and lots of donation students so funds are never running low. Our mechanical labs were upto date wind tunnel, high configuration workstations with original softwares, one CNC machine, 28 lathe machines, diesel and petrol IC engine models every damn thing was there and as my batch was the 1st one, it was all brand new.

Placement Experience

3.5

Outrageous and unacceptable. The TnP Cell just doesn’t care about students. All they are interested in is a fraction: Placement % = (Students placed)/(Students eligible). And they do very little to improve the numerator, but keep looking to reduce the denominator. They find absurd reasons to disqualify students from placement process. They keep below par training programs, charge for it, make them compulsory and disqualify you if you miss even a few lectures! Didn’t attend a single mock test they arranged on a Saturday for your inconvenience? Disqualified! Worst of all is their definition of dream companies. It keeps changing every year. Accenture and Infosys hire you in bulk irrespective of your branch and you are not even allowed to refuse to sit for a particular company.

College Events

5

Extra curricular activities and student societies: Decent and a scam respectively: Extra curricular activities are not encouraged as they invariably involve missing lectures and nothing on earth is as important as lecture in TCET universe. The technical festival is lame and barely attracts crowd. Sometimes even students from the college don’t show up, forget outsiders. Heard of fancy societies like IEEE, ISTE, ASME, CSI, SAE? Well TCET has a student wing for each. What do they do? They make you take membership, give you a receipt and thats about it! No activities, very few seminars, just nothing! Maybe in rare cases you get a membership certificate (which is rubbish as you didn’t do anything except pay). It is one big scam! the committee just elects core members who conduct the technical festival, take your money as membership fees and disappear.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees for one year is 199996. Everything is just awesome about TCET, you name it. Its cultural and technical fest called Zephyr is also among the best in Mumbai and gives tough competition to Techfest of IIT-B. Well, if you don’t fare well in JEE and you live in Maharashtra, then this is the best engineering university through MHT-CET.

Fees and Financial Aid

Now 1 thing I would like to share, out of topic, is our education system has many week points and it is like ‘you reap what you sow’. One of my friends from TCET has made it to ‘Google Summer of Code’ twice and I know someone from ‘Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology’, again an average college, working in Google. So ultimately its you who have to do all the job.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus – TCET use to had a big campus with a huge garden but then they build another building on it for different other educational sections. Still a pretty decent campus. Well infrastructure and a vast ground where you will often see people playing volleyball and cricket. ‘Stair’ is where most of the memories are made. And it has awesome library.

Hostel Facilities

4

There are many places to visit nearby and if you have nothing to do just go to Wanton Point. The festivals used to be cool, but the increased pressure of attending lectures and the number of committees springing leading to more discrepancies are leading to okayish/bad output. Zephyr'12 & TCET's Zephyr were the best. The days are awesome, people are taking interest the new days with the participation increasing by the year. Sojourn, the cultural fest is when the entire college is gathered in the auditorium and have a gala time. The final year students have an awesome time during the last year with special slots for them to perform in Sojourn.

Alumni/Alumna

Everything is just awesome about TCET, you name it. Its cultural and technical fest called Zephyr is also among the best in Mumbai and gives tough competition to Techfest of IIT-B. Well, if you don’t fare well in JEE and you live in Maharashtra, then this is the best engineering university through MHT-CET.

Admission

I got admission because of my friend referral and dates are in first week of june which most of them apply by filling the form issued by the college and most of them apply for the mechanical engineering as I was one of them who got the early batch for the college.

Faculty

3.5

As far as mechanical branch is concerned, teaching was pathetic. Teachers would skip portion, openly admit they don’t know much when asked too many questions and practicals would be conducted for the sake of conducting. But one exception I must admit was Mathematics professor Bhalekar Sir. That man knew what he was doing, never left any topic uncovered and timed every single lecture like clockwork, always covering his targeted amount of syllabus on that particular day. I must give him credit for that, as I have never seen a man as dedicated as him! But overall faculty is caring and good natured. EXTC faculty is known for being over strict and unreasonable at times but every teacher is good at heart. Also I must add CMPN and EXTC faculty was decent in terms of teaching.

From 7th Sem, students are eligible for placements and undergo placement training. Many companies has visited so far but the big ones are Godrej, BEL, Framatome, etc. The highest package for mechanical was 7.5 LPA and the avg package was around 5 LPA with a majority of job roles as GET. Almost 95% students are placed. I'm preparing for GATE ME for higher studies

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources
