Remarks
There are all extremely professional, helpful and well trained.
Course Curriculum Overview
Exam structure and course curriculum is meant to make you an industry professional. Some subjects are research driven while some are theoretical, in order to give the basic knowledge of industry norms and information. Especially the internships carry more number of credits and hence the projects done in the industry helps the student understand the system much better.
Placement Experience
There are 2 compulsory internships in the course in order to make your own impact and learn the processes. The placements happen every year and at least 95% of the campus gets placed.
College Events
Almost every week there is small inter department event happening. And major events happen at least once in every 45 days. Yearly college fest happens in February, while inter campus sports fest in December where all NIFT campuses participate. These all are fun activities and are not compulsory but gives an extra edge to your student profile.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It is a little expensive as compared to government institutions but they have a tie up with hdfc banks for education loans. Fee breakdown is mentioned and is available on the college website. There is a hike in the fee every year by 10 percent. It is around 150000 for one year approximately.
Fees and Financial Aid
I took an education loan from hdfc bank. You just have to visit a nearest branch and they already have the details.
Campus Life
Gender ratio is more towards females because it’s a fashion institute. There are different clubs for cultural, literary and sports events. In which we can participate right from the 1st year. It’s a raging free campus. Student diversity is huge as everyone from India and abroad are eligible.
Hostel Facilities
No I did not opt for hostel. But students taking hostel service are usually charged around 30000 annually for it. Food service is included. Some students also shift in the near by apartments after the first year where a shared flat is somewhere around 3000 per person. There are a lot of options open for the students.
Alumni/Alumna
Everyone connected to the institute are very helpful be it regarding the internships or the jobs or any submission.
Admission
I chose this institution because I wanted to study Fashion and indeed its the top fashion institute of India. The forms are to be filled up by the month of October. Entrance is usually in the month of February. Depending on the score and your all India Rank the next procedure begins.
Faculty
The faculty members are all well educated and perfect for the subjects allocated to them. Few have worked in the industry before, while few have done their PhDs in the relevant subjects. They are all very well trained and focused on making a student professional individual rather than just giving information and making them pass the exams.
