Remarks

College is overall good regarding academics, faculty members and placements but at the same time it also lacks in some department such as food provided in the hostel mess and canteens is kind of tasteless. The hostels charges a lot.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum and Exam structure is based on PTU (Punjab Technical University) which is pretty relevant for the placement drives and exams point of view. In B.tech, around 5th to 7th semesters we are basically taught the subjects which are industry related or which will come in use for our placement drives.

Placement Experience

4

Our college has around 80-85% of placement percentage compared to other private colleges which is basically around 40-60%. Most of the well known companies such as Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Wipro, Cognizant and Capgemini visit our campus and pick lot of students. But there is a catch that Google and Microsoft basically comes for the post of BCO not for the software engineers or something and whom are we kidding, they have IIT's and NIT's for the main posts.

College Events

3.5

Technical festivals for every department are celebrated almost every 2 months and the cultural fests such as Parivartan is held every year for the whole campus and it's pretty good for social gathering and fun with friends. Fresher parties are held every year for the new joined students so that they can meet each other and have fun.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is feasible and it is basically same as all othe colleges coming under PTU. The college accepts almost every mode of payment such as Cash, Credit/Debit cards, netbanking, Demand draft etc. The admission fees is basically around 4-5k more than the semester fees which includes library, security fees etc. The admission fees for B.tech is 47k and semester fees is around 43k. The exam fees of around 710 rs is taken every semester which goes to PTU.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, the college offer scholarship to the students scoring more than 90% in their 12th exams. They had this kind of test, if you cleared that test you are offered around 20-30% scholarships. Also they have scholarships for the J&K students and the SC/ST/OBC students.

Campus Life

4.5

The gender ratio of boys and girls is basically around 6:4. I mean they are basically same in numbers. The sports department is basically like non-existent. Debate competitions such as MUN's are held every year so that's a plus point. There are students from almost every state of the country and some students from the other countries too which comes for summer exchange programs or so.

Hostel Facilities

3

No i haven't. I was staying in PG rooms and flats during my whole course. The hostel rooms are pretty decent. There are around 4 hostels for boys and 1 hostel for girls. They have like 2-Bed, 3-Bed and 4 Bed system too.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is strong over here as Alumni meets are held almost every year and Alumni's from past 7-8 years are also present in these meets. Senior students are very helpful. you can talk to them regarding projects, some tips for the placements and they are always ready to help.

Admission

I got admission in this college through direct admission on the basis of my percentage in 12th so i was able to get seat in B.tech easily. College had some professionals sitting in the admission process who will talk you through the whole process of admission regarding the percentage required for a particular course, the semester and admission fees, campus details etc. The admissions are basically open around the time of end of May to mid august after 12th board results come.

Faculty

4.5

There are around 7-8 lectures in first 4 semesters and in last 4 semesters they are reduced to around 5-6. The faculty is very helpful. you can go to them anytime if you have any doubt. Most of the faculty is PHD holder and they have kind of expertise in their subjects.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
