Remarks

As everyone knows about Jadavpur University I need not to say more. There are more positives than negetives. A student gets exposed to all sorts of culture whuch helps them in their better future.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course and curriculam is designed in such a way that a student is taught on a wide range of topics of the subject. It is very interesting and teachers may even ask the student to research and present in class for a specific topic. Due to this research learning it helped me to dig deep in anything and learn. Even it has made me more critical.

Placement Experience

4

The placements in the arts faculty I woyld say not very great. Some small startup companies come. The annual packages provided are also not much. However, a student in technical line like economics, science or engineering have a good placement and can be placed in a good company.

College Events

5

There are several evrnts held throught out the year. The most celebrated is the Fests of all three faculties. It is held mostly in March or April. A 3 to 4 days full of events and competitions, guest perfomances etc. Otherthan that, there are events like rabindra jayanti celebrations, small concerts etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its very affordable maybe not even rwo thounsdand rupees is spent in an entire year. Fir my course it was 1275 rupees yearly. And exam fee ranged from 40 to 70 rupees. There are no extra charges which we need to pay. The college at timr of admission breaks down the amount in parts.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have not opted for any such scholarship or loans. But I can tell, that for any such scholarships, all the departments are notified and one can apply through the departmental help.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is very good. One misses the campus life after they passout. I may say the Gender ratio is more or less equal. There are several extracurriculars like feasts, debates, competitions etc. Taking part in those helps in for the future. There are several seminars also departmental wise or faculty seminars. One can volunteer or take part in these seminars.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students are very helpful. They will help their juniors to any extenr they can. Maintaing a healthy and friendly relations with seniors is important.

Admission

For my bachelors I had to sit for an entrance examination. It was a 50 marks exam. I addmission was based on a 50-50 basis that is, 50% based on your 12th marks and 50% weightage is given to the marks scored in the admission test. Admissions are likely to begins around May end to June 1st week after the West Bengal higher Secondary results. After the form fillup the exam dates are revealed which is likely to be held around june end. After the results are decleared, the admission process is held during 2nd to 3rd week of july. And sessions may being during end week of July or first week of August. This is process is for the arts faculty.

Faculty

5

The Arts faculty of my colleges have some realky good teachers. In every department, there are ateast 4 to 5 papers per semester. And atleast 4 lectures per paper. Sometimes research scholars also take the class. It helps them to learn more and even we students become free with thrm.

Placement Experience:

Most of the placements that took place at least for the literature departments ended up with people joining educational institutes and NGOs. Very few joined corporate enterprises like Accenture. But it does provide almost a 5 LPA, if well placed. It is academically rigorous, therefore academics are weighed more than industry.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for applying for internships after the 3rd semester, and students can apply for placements only after 4th semester. Companies like Ericsson, Ernst and Young, JPMG makes visits our department for mostly analyst roles for economic and fundamental trading decisions. The highest offer made was 45LPA while the average is 7.5LPA. The median pakage is 8LPA. Almost 90% students secure placements after completing their degree since the Training and placement cell is pretty proactive in securing good company visits. I plan for investing and analyst roles in banking companies. I would sit for placements hoping for the same.
