Remarks
College management try their best. But it still isn't what it could be
Course Curriculum Overview
They have 3 sessionals per semester, 2 will be counted, like max marks. So it's okay even if you miss one. Sometimes there are 2 sessionals in one day, morning and evening. Then there is semester exam, which PTU takes. It can be hard sometimes, but mostly it's not that hard (won't say easy) course curriculum is okay, sure needs an updation in subjects like data science is not there if you're wondering
Placement Experience
Placements are good. They won't pay that much, but there would be many companies which'll visit. Almost everyone will get placed. They'll range from 2.5 LPA to 32 LPA, most of they will pay standard 3.5 LPA. Companies? Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte, Dell, Mu Sigma, Evalueserve, Cognizant, Wipro, start ups, and a lot more
College Events
Freshers party is not that good, but in my second year, Badshah came for something different, some red bus tour, but our college combined them. Parivartan fest is there, the annual fest of our college, it's great. It's a 2 days fest. Then there are tech fests from each department too. And they celebrate some local festivals like Makkar sakranti lohri etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is very much feasible. It must be higher than what it was for me. But for 2014 to 2018 batch, it was about 45 thousand per semester college fees and 75 thousands per year hostel fees. If you want a direct admission, you might have to pay extra one times fees in lakhs, but it's very much negotiable. They asked 2 Lakhs from me and I didn't pay anything, but people did, some in thousands, some in lakhs
Fees and Financial Aid
Didn not avail it, but my friend did, he availed an education loan and his tuition fees like 14 thousands per semester whereas it was 45 thousands per semester for us. But he had to pay hostel fees like others only. If you can avail, please do, it's great.
Campus Life
Campus life was greattt. It's large enough, a lot of parks. There's an "Ashiqui Chowk" in front of girls hostel. Diversity? Majorly north Indians only, a few african americans, and I don't recall seeing anyone from south. Atleast 70% are Punjabis by the way. But there's no ragging or racism in campus as such. People are great there. Gender ratio was like 6.5 boys to 3.5 maybe. But doesn't matter, you'd find someone ;)
Alumni/Alumna
I'd give them 8/10. We have annual alumni meets in Pune, Bangalore and NCR. It was recently started. It's not for a particular year though, there would ne one Annual meet for alumni from any year
Admission
I opted for CSE in B.Tech. I opted for IT in all the other colleges, I chose CSE here because I was sure I wouldn't join this (no offence to college, I had other plans) but destiny has its own way. There were some personal reasons I chose this college, but well the location is good, it's near to NCM mall and Chandigarh, and you'd grow on street market around college. As for the admission process, there are 2 way, one is merit list from PTU, other is direct admission, I took latter, then they'd ask you which college? There are 2 engineering colleges in same campus, CEC and COE. I chose CEC, you should too. It's much older.
Faculty
Faculty was good. Reallly good. Like I said, curriculum needs an update. But for the subjects we did have. They were great. Age ranging from 30-50. But all of them had clarity about their subjects. Some had industry experience too. I don't remember the no of lectures but timings of college were 9:15 to 4:30, something like that
