Remarks

As the college is managed by the Government, there is total freedom in the campus. Various student organizations also work for the well being of the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The courses are obviously research driven. The syllabus and curriculum are designed are designed in such a way that it will make you a professional in your field where ever you go. Various clubs in the college such as the SAE- Society of Automotive Engineers are renowned for their works in various national level competitions.

Placement Experience

3

Average placement. The college placement cell works for the betterment of student performance in job interviews. The departments like CSE, ME and EEE have a better placement chance than other departments

College Events

5

The college’s main event is its annual national level tech- cultural fest which we proudly call as dyuthi. It is a 4 day fest including world class Disc Jockeys and music band. The college union organizations conducts various other events such as GEC Premier League, GEC Super League.etc. There wont’ be any shortage for events in this college I guarantee

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee infrastructure is very much feasible. The annual fees( tuition + PTA fund) is of Rs. 8000 only. Various organizations are helping students who are financially backward to pay their fees and other expenses. Also there is no fees for SC and ST students. They also have a special reservation in tye allotment of college hostel.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers scholarships for various students based on their rank. Various scholarships like e- Grants are also there for students for those whose monthly income is below 100K I suppose.

Campus Life

5

The college has almost equal gender ratios in all other departments except in the department of Mechanical. The college life is exactly what you see in movies and books. Various movies had been shot in this college. There is no discrimination faced by any students and it is being regularly monitored by the college union and the staffs

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I am basically a day scholar. The hostel facility is provided according to the distance from home. There are various private hostels around the area. So I am sure that you wont’ be dissappointed in the search for hostel. The private hostel charges are bit high as compared to the college hostels. The college hostel is of medium cleanliness.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni are of great help, mostly financial. The alumni network is very strong as some of them are top employees in organizations such as BPCL, ISRO etc. —THERE IS NO RAGGING IN THE COLLEGE— Ragging is considered as a crime in the college and is strictly forbidden. Senior students are very friendly and acceptable.

Admission

Via KEAM, which is held annually in search for engineering aspirants all over Kerala. The exam is held mostly on the month of June. The KEAM score tallied along with the Plus Two marks are used for preparing the rank list. The admission to Government Engineering Colleges requires a pretty good rank of about less than 5K.

Faculty

4

Established faculty with world class equipments and labs. The faculties are are mostly of IIT and NIT graduates. They are selected by PSC examination conducted by the Government of Kerala. The faculties are well experienced in their disciple and have great and penetrating knowledge in their field both academic and work bases

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
