Remarks

College should improve alot in every aspects like teaching, placement, ragging free, and other facilities like canteen and hostels of their own. And obviously the wifi and internet facility is quite poor. Even we can't receive any signals in our phone network in particular operators like vodafone-idea, bsnl. Jio and airtel has a very little network.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is good. My university is assam science and technology university. This university prepares our curriculum. Facilities of various colleges along with iit guwahati has prepared our curriculum. But as we are the first batch in our college of civil engineering department and fully an astu student ( as our previous batch were gauhati university) so we face some minimal problems. That's ok nothing to worry about. Overall good. Exam structure is same as most engineering colleges. End semester exams are held. Our course curriculum is upto date as other engineering colleges in india. So i think we are gaining approximately the same knowledge as other engineering students of india though we lack in some practicals in laboratory. This is government college afterall. We have learned to tackle with it. Seniors also help us sometimes.

Placement Experience

1.5

Placement wise our college is poor. It is bad to say but the truth is that due to same reason. Kokrajhar is situated in a place where there are no any big industries farms etc nearby. So no placement (very rare 1 or 2 placements per year). They don't even know that there is a engineering college at that place. But there are many placement drives invited by other engineering colleges in guwahati. They invite our students to their in institutes for placement drive.

College Events

3

There is an annual event in our college called technisia. It is held towards the mid or beginning of february. Various singers dj s come to this grand event to give us enjoyment. Many sub events and competitions are also held in this annual event.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Our college charges rs 14000 per year which includes everything from tuition fees to bus fees including laboratories, electricity etc. Our college takes the fees through demand drafts. Additional fees like technisia is taken separately. College charges approximately rs 1500 per student from it. Sometimes college also charges fees for the training like robotics etc. Exam fees are seperately collected before the exam time. There are no any additional fees to be paid to secure admission in our college. Yes, with respect to fee- breakdown our college is quite transparent.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes our college provides many scholarships. Various scholarships like ishaan uday, nec etc are there. There is also a special scholarship for girls as well. But as i don't fulfill the requirements of the scholarshis i have not availed a single scholarship. There are also some caste scholarship for sc st obc s as well.

Campus Life

2

Our campus is big enough but not used properly. Most of the land is kept unused. There is no any canteen in our college. We use to go to an aunty's home. She has started a small business by cooking parathas maggie roti etc and we all go there during leisure periods. Gender ratio is well like boys to girl is 5:3. Our college also has various caste students studying together like sc st obc general. Students from various religious backgrounds like hindu muslim christian are studying together. There is no any discrimination. All are treated equal. Sports events, robotics debates, poem writing competition self defense for girls are held. Students participate in huge numbers. Annual election for elecing general secretary assistant general secretary etc for forming the union body for 1 year are held annually. Various private hostels particpate here.

Hostel Facilities

2

Our college has no hostel. Students live in private hostels and paying guests. Some even on rented houses. Hostels are not upto that mark. But pgs are quite good. Electricity problems are common. Ragging is the most common practice in hostels which need to be removed at any cost. On an average a student should pay from rs 5000 to 7000 per month.

Alumni/Alumna

Actually from the very beginning of my college days i kept on fearing the seniors. I fear talking to them. They show seniority in such a level that they harasses a lot. I am against it. Actually it is becoming a tradition as it is government college after all. But there are some seniors whom we respect very well due to their kind behaviour.

Admission

I opt for civil engineering. This is because firstly it is one of the core subjects of engineering. I didn't get civil engineering branch in my hometown guwahati's assam engineering college. As my first priority was the branch and not the college so i opted to study in bineswar brahma engineering college, kokrajhar. Moreover ny college assam engineering college and many other government institutions are under same university that is assam science and technology university. I was lucky enough to get admission in a government engineering college through my entrance exam marks cee 2018. The admission procedure is simple. Counseling is held. There are different fixed dates for different marks category and caste category. At my time it was held in assam engineering institute.

Faculty

2

From my point of view although our college is under teqip-iii, but from my point of view it is not upto the mark particularly in my civil engineering department. This may also happen as we are the first batch. Other department are ok. Neutral there are not more than 50 lecturers overall in my college. Lecturers are mostly on an average between ages 30 -40 years. They are well qualified not upto that level as other but overall good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

For a programme, most of the fundamental course help us build our foundations for applications in real life. It builds us, the knowledge we are required to have for solving issues related to this field. There are some department electives which we can choose as well as open electives which we can choose during the course of our programme, for us. That will be a total of 8 semesters. For doing best during the programme, I suggest, a student to do their best during the first 3 exams, since those exams are scoring but scoring in endsem becomes comparatively difficult due to extreme rigorous checking.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant and is different for different branches according to their needs. I was interested in civil engineering and chose the course and find the curriculum intersting and relevant for me . The curriculum offers subject which are important for real world applications, like in civil engineering it's offers subjects like building construction, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, material testing, serving, etc. The course curriculum is very good but the teaching methods needs improvement like more digitalization . The exams frequency and timings are neither too late nor too early, they are perfectly planned and executed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There exists a good teaching staff that's why the course is very easy to understand also teachers give us good examples also do practicals so that's students understand the course easily . I see that there exist a low no of equipments in practical lab compare to it's students ratio so if they have a good no of equipments then all students get equipment to do experiment without any waste of time . Time is good as compare to marks and the first 30 marks are beginner level the other 40 marks are intermediate level and the remaining 30 Marks are advanced level questions in a question paper for the students they published.
