The teachers are very supportive and friendly
All are required books are available in the library
Cultural activities and sports are prioritise

Dislikes

Infrastructure is not good. Most of the things are under construction
No air conditioning in the class rooms .
There is no open stage in the college for functions

Course Curriculum Overview

There are no specific aspects to get influenced to choose a particular course. We have to give a exam called CEE to get admission in government engineering college. The course gives us confidence and prepares for real world no improvement required currently The difficulty level is medium and exams are held in a gap of 6 months

Fees and Financial Aid

From year 2021 to 2024 the fees I have paid is 14500 per year . Since the college is under government of Assam , the fees are less than private colleges. The course registration fees is free of cost and the examination form fill up cost is 1500.

Campus Life

Our annual festival is called technisia. We have to give a amount of 2500 rs to the college for this event. There are every sort of books related to our course are available. Departmental sports competitions are held There are drama club , sports club in our college

Admission

I didn't choose this college over the others. I have applied other colleges like aec, jec . The cutoff marks are high than the marks I get in the exam. To get admission I had given cee . The overall experience is good . The degrees are same in all colleges.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is decent. The faculty to student relationship is good . They are helpful. In one semester we have to give mid term and end term.Around 30-40% of students fail to clear exams.

Great college with decent infrastructure and a large campus

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute.The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Overall good university which offers good internships and placement.

Placement Experience:

Placement percentage is nearly about 75-80%. Usually students get placed in good PSUs, or in tech companies. Other students opt for further studies like mtech or mba. My plans is to mtech as I want to do better jobs than a btech graduate do

Placement Experience:

Normally from third semester student become eligible campus placements but most usually take placements in fourth semester or fifth semester The percentage of getting placements are about 60% The highest package per company usually was ?80,000 per month and the average is around 20,000 Per month My plan is to get a job of a construction firm for about one year so that I can collect good amount of experience and they will hire me because I am passout from this college because this is one of the most reputed college after one year or two year, I will try for government exams or some private companies like Gautam farm, et cetera

The students who are appearing for the 7th semester end term examination are eligible for the campus placement drive , eligibility varies as per the companies eligibility criteria, main factors are CGPA score of the particular student. There are many companies who visited the campus for placement drive but the main companies who visited for campus placement drive are : NRL( Numoligorh Refinery Limited) ,ONGC( oil natural gas corporation) etc , the highest package offered was 24 lpa by NRL and the offer was got by 8 students and the average package of our college is 7lpa approx

An honest review for NIT silchar with detail analysis.

Placement Experience:

Placement of NIT silchar is pretty good. Average package is around 12 Lpa. Although after corona the placement dropped but still it is good. Many big tech companies visit during placement for full time and internship. Core companies also visits for different roles. During our placement season it happens generally after 7th semester. Generally criteria for sitting in any company varies based on cgpa and sometimes 10th and 12th marks depends on company to company generally it is 6 or 7 or 8 cgpa. Good it companies offer 20-30lpa and lowest offer was 6th lpa.

Placement Experience:

For campus placement student are eligible from 7th sem and for internship whole 3rd year 5th to 6th sem. Highest package till now is 34 lpa i guess in intuit .and lowest 6lpa.I am totally focus into doing job rsther than doing higher studies .Iam placed at Deloitte and i am happy.till now 50 percent students of civil got plsced 80 percent Cse

The other colleges I applied for are aec, jec, jist, tezpur university, nits. I couldn't qualify for jee so I did get into tezpur university or nits. My rank wasn't that high in cee so I could not get a seat in AEC and JEC.
