Teachers are helpful they are also very friendly in nature
The nature and surrounding of the college is pretty good with clan and peaceful environment
The college fest and events are one of the best thing of the college

Dislikes

Our college poor infrastructure only 1 academic building having 4 branceh all together
Placement is ver low only few students get offered
Poor sports facility lack of maintainance in sports

Course Curriculum Overview

Ous college is under ASTU so curiculam is ver old hardly any changes uou cant expect to get any level of GATE exam type knowledge from these curriculum.curiculam alo adds many non engineering subjects .

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 15000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly fees 14500.for four years around 60000rs. For latera entry around 40000rs.fees is same for all categories many scholarship like ishanudai gives 75000rs per year and the fees of our clg increasing.

Campus Life

My overall experience is pretty decent canpus is becoming better as our infrastructure still need a boost there are many clubs but only few of them are actually active in future we hope there will be more such active

Hostel Facilities

Its not so good out hostel dont have wifi yet we only got a bed and table they disnt even game us a single chair the hostel authority is not ao good they dont give us good food breakfast only breads are given with a gam

Admission

In assam this is one of the old colleges in comparison to others we this college have some old teachers which teaching is better then other colleges avilabe here.Also as a old college facilities are also very good

I am a mechanical engineering student here all the faculity members are well educated and helpful they have good experties in their own field of interset.we have 4 departments CHEM,EE,ME,CE.marks are given in cgpa system

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible to participate for Internship placements from 3rd year and FTE offer from 4th year starting. Overall the placements scenarios are pretty good considering it to be a NIT. The overall highest package goes to around 80 lac plus and the average package lies around 18 to 20 lac for CSE Department. The opportunities are great with companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia coming for on campus opportunities providing agreat experience

Placement starts from 7th sem . Many companies visited our campus for placement..Top IT Companies that visited our campus is Samsung, Nvidia, Oracle , SAP Lab , Cisco etc Psu also visited for placement... Which includes BPCL, OIL India Limited,EIL, MECON, BEL, HPCL.. etc .. Top core company also visited here ... Which includes vedanta , jsw , Tata Power, Honda etc . Highest package is 82 lpa which is given by atlassian. Average is 6 lpa I am working in infratech company

Let's have a look what is going on inside NIT Silchar

Placement Experience:

From 5th sem students are allowed to participate in oncampus summar internship and from. 7th semester starting they are allowed for 6 month internship and Full time roles . There is a Training and placement Cell in our college there are some heads of this cell they are senior professors and it have final year students in senior coordinator position and 3 rd year study as probationary. Students bring the companies which fulfills the criteria of TNP cell and each company have their own eligibility criteria and selection procedure. Mostly companies allows 6 cgpa without any active backlog students . But some high paying companies requires 7 or more cgpa . In 3rd year Cisco , microsoft, public sapiens, Tech Mahindra, Accenture ,Oracle and many more companies visited in our campus and hired good amounts of students for summer internship and mostly offers full time role as ppo to students. In 4th year a lots of company like Novartis, amazon, flipkart,aditya birla, Cisco , Deloitte, oracle,ukg, Motorola, siemens , IBM and many more startups visited college and hired .Some paid 15+ CTC and some 6 to 10 CTC . Almost 40% of students are placed till December this year from each branch . Personally I'm planning for taking chances to get an online internship and then try to go for higher studies abroad in automation and robotics.

NIT Silchar Review: Campus, Career and Career Prospects

Placement Experience:

NIT Silchar has decent placement stat. Approx 75 percent student got placement from campus and they got decent package. In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

Great college with decent infrastructure and a large campus

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute.The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Not good at all placements. Worst placement college that is ever been. They couldn't get companies coming to this college after such long times. The only companies which comes gives packeges as low as 200000 per annum. which is worst in these present times.

The other colleges I applied for are aec, jec, jist, tezpur university, nits. I couldn't qualify for jee so I did get into tezpur university or nits.
