Remarks

I have appeared for JEE MAINS & ADVANCED and I had a combined counseling through JoSAA. I opted for many colleges through it and finally got admission to NIT Calicut in the last round.I opted for EEE although my first choice was Computer Science because it was the best possible I could get with my MAINS score.

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum was a bit old. They followed 2010 curriculum.It was updated for the newer batches. We were not given any kind of industrial exposure although the labs could compensate for that.

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 600000 per year

Placement Experience

Around 200 companies visited.Multiple profiles were offered like CORE, IT, MANAGEMEMT, etc.Around 600 students are placed for academic session 2019-2020. The TnP department is really hardworking. I would say the best department on campus.

College Events

Campus life is MALYALI dominated.Events are pretty huge but Not up to the expectations. A lot of technical Clubs are there eg Robotics, Aero Unwired, Team Unwired etc. Cultural Clubs include Dance and Dramatics, Literary and Debating, Cultural Association, ISTE, Audio Visual etc. Two Fests are RAGAM the cultural fest and Tathva the tech fest.

Campus Life

All Hostels are WiFi enabled. Campus is under full renovation. Gym for boys and girls. Different Courts in every hostel. Library is huge. Labs become crowded in EEE. Sports depend on faculty in charge.

Hostel Facilities

Older Hostels are very old dating 30 years back with mere renovation. New Mega Hostel is huge and very spacious. First Year- 4 bedded Second year- 3 bedded Third Year- 2 bedded South Year- single bedded

from semister 6 students become eligible for campus placements and companies loke bank of america , google microsoft etc visited for campus placements and the highest package is about 54 lakhs where as average is 11 lakhs and about 98% of the students are placed

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Placement Experience:

As of what i spoke to the seniors they said that AI students got better placements compared to Core students and the average package is around 9LPA for CSE branches students and 7LPA overall for all the branches and there is CIR foundation classes where they teach us how to improve our communication skills and How to create a resume right from first year itself according to seniors it is very helpfull

An aspiring first year student’s review

Placement Experience:

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.

I have choosen this college because it is of top 5 NITs and i am getting a good branch. I have apllied for remaining top nits also, but i got this for my jee mains rank( i couldn't make to other top nits because may be of lack of good preperation for jee). When compared to remianing NITs, this college has everything that every other NIT also have, the sports facilities here can be improved. Life at NITC by Vimosh Kumar

I wanted to get into Mechanical Engineering in any of the top NIT's so applied for all the NIT's in the NIRF ranking order with mechanical in every college so after the counselling happened to get into NIT Calicut. The admission process is through JoSAA Counselling where students come to the college after getting alloted but before that the student needs to clear the JEE Main Exam to get admitted into the college. Accordind to NIRF rankings this is the top 27 Engineering college in India and top 3rd NIT. Admission process is only through JEE Mains Exam. You need very good percentile to join this college. Nit Calicut very good placements too....Read More
