Remarks

Firstly, i got the college on the basis of my merits and apart from that i choose this because i heard about the cooperative and helpful staff. I liked this college because of many other reasons too, because their focus is to diverse and make a child good in every field.

Course Curriculum Overview

The college has various courses for students, the staff there is very friendly, cooperative and helpful. We were regulars updated with out syllabus and teaching techniques. Various functions were also arranged for students to explore new things like seminars, festivals, placements. The college has a very good placement cell too.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 90000 per year

Placement Experience

There were placement fairs conducted every year where alot of companies joined. Not only the colleges students but the other students were also given a chance to grab the opportunity. Alumni meets are also held every year where known people from our college also joins. Some of the notable alumni from our college is NK Sharma who is the MLA of zirakpur and a very known personality, and A punjabi singing group known as The Landers are also from our college and various punjabi singers Like prateek mann, gurtej and others.

College Events

There were alot of Extracurricular activites were present along with studies such as International seminars, Workshops, Festivals, matches, fairs, etc. The college allowed everyone to get the experience. There were technical, cultural and management festivals were held.

Campus Life

The campus is not very big though but it provides with almost every required facilities, like library, labs, sports area, etc. The equipment in labs were good and were given enough knowledge about everything. Everyone was given a chance to experience changes and new things.

THE LIFE AT DAV COLLEGE

Placement Experience:

We do have a training and placement cell which is run mostly run by both students and teachers. Students with good percentile can sit for placements and can get place into companies which are mostly from BPO and sales background. Students are eligible for campus placements in their 5th semester. Companies which have came in our college in 2024-2025 are Sri ram insurance , Kotak insurance , Planet spark , De shaw , Zomato etc. Highest package offered is around 5 LPA and average package is around 1.5 LPA. I have planned to go for higher studies after my graduation, most probably I will be doing MBA.

I chose the course B.Com (hons in finance and accounting). Look teachers will reach you the syllabus bit the rest you have to cover your all. For that library and computer facilities would be given to you. The library contains a lot of books which you can refer for extra material.

Placement Experience:

You are eligible for placement after you 4th semester , They will also provide you noc if required for your placement, they actually dont have good companies I personally didn't went for placement because i have some other plans but some of my friends were there for placement, and from them I came to know that the companies are offering only 20-25 k month and on a remorte location, according to me which is not sufficient . Percentage of students got placements were around 50%. My plan after degree is that i am opting MBA because bcom hons is not such a huge degree that you will get good income from that only ,so if you want to boostup you career I suggest you must go for atleast MBA.

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like tech mahindra, airtel, delloitte,etc visited for campus Placements. The highest package this year was 9 Lakhs. And average package this year was 6 lakhs. Near around 97% students got campus placement. After getting degree my plan is to opt for MBA in finance from a good reputed college .

Review of SGGS College Sector-26, Chandigarh by a first sem student (Honest review)

I applied to other 5 colleges too which are affiliated by Panjab University and have BCA course. Seats from two colleges were offered to me, one from the college I took admission in and another from the 50 sector post graduate government college. I didn't take admission in the 50 sector post graduate government college because of campus. That college has small campus compared to SGGS college. My admission got rejected in other colleges like SD college, DAV college, PGGC Sector-11 because of there high merit list. The procedure for taking admission in my college is simple. First you need to fill a form in which you have to show your 12th and 10th examination marks and then they prepare a list and give admission to those who have high percentage. Then they call you and offer seat. If you are interested in taking admission then say them yes and then the staff will ask you to pay the admission and tuition fees and done.
