What Students Say

Likes

Well mannered students and staffs, teaching experience is much batter then other colleges,
They have big playground and basketball court and tennis court and a sports room with indoor games such as table tennis and carrom and chess etc.
They have some awesome classrooms and canteen is so good and my college has an nescafe where all students were present after lectures

Dislikes

The dont have cleanliness in wahsroom and their canteen looks like some random street vendors places.
Study is not necessary for students and for teachers also
They all prefer to go to the ground more than class room.

Course is much better then other courses beacuse if you choose bca you have to read atleast 4 to 5 hours a day. Beacuse if you dont able to read do not choose bca please... Bca has a great future in software engineering

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid 30,000 per semester for my bca Admission fees is 900 per semester Tuition fees is 700 and i did not belong from any sc st categorie my batchmates fees is less than me beacause they are in BA and their fees is 8k to 9k per semester. I don't have any kind of scholorships but i need an intern to pay my fees.

Campus Life

Campus life is much better than college because i made some friends they are just awesome beacuse i spend more time with them.. we studied together and we hangout together and we go to other college for having fun and all

Admission

Cause i dont get admissions in other college because I don't have any kind of reservation at all. All seats were offered to the reservation students. And one of my frnd got admission in this college so i have to choose this college

Faculty of my colege is not more than 200 and there is atleast 5 to 6k students in college their faculty system is not so good. All faculty were busy in their gossips with other teachers and they teach students like they are students of 1st class.

Sri guru gobind singh college: More Than Just a Degree

Likes

All the teachers here are very supportive, and they clarify our doubts every time we ask them And they also support us a lot in our outside activities.
If you are interested in sports then the teachers will help you a lot And if you miss a class So if you ask, the teachers will explain it to you again in a better way but you have to focus
The canteen here is very clean And the campus is also very good, it is open and has a lot of area where you can sit with your friends and chill in your free time

Dislikes

Elections are not liked here because elections lead to a lot of fights and quarrel It has a huge impact on our studies too
The parking here is outside and the people who provide the parking charge quite a lot.

Placement Experience:

After giving 4th semester exam Students get ready for placement interviews The package depends on your qualification and knowledge If you have scored above 80% then only you will be eligible for placement if you don't get a placement, there are many other companies outside where you can apply

Reality of BCA in Chitkara

Likes

The Teachers are bit supportive and understanding.
Collage infrastructure is technically fulfiled.
They designed their course every year according to industry.

Dislikes

There are too many students in the campus.
Some teachers do not understand teaching they are good in researh not in teaching.
the lectures ares not that much engaging.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is is desgined nicely but the lectures is bit boring. I choose this coures because i have grea interest in programing. They and make lectures bit more engaging. The difficulty of exams aren moderate and all are in campus(offline).

Likes

The college campus is very beautifull and very attractive.
The teaching staff is very friendly and helpful.
The course is helping me in my personal as well as proffesional development.

Dislikes

The problem of sanitation is the issue in this college .
There is the shortage of non -teaching staff.
The hostels' mess food is also not good .

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for placement in thier final year. The companies which visited are college for placements are nescafe,tata, ayurveda etc. The yearly package is 1700000 and the average package offered is 700000.

Good enviroment but bad accomodation

Likes

faculty expertise and teaching methods - The faculty at CIET are experienced and knowledgable who are well in their fields.they include the use of practical examples
Infrastructire and learning facilities - the classrooms are not very well maintained which is crucial for engineering stuudents , but the library are well stocked and equipped with digital resources
placement and career support - well connected with companies and industries that lead to average placement rates as they organise placement drives , mock interviews

Dislikes

teaching cosistency - while their are few faculty members that are excellent, there is some incosistency in teaching quality and some course could more benefit from more experienced teachers
while placements are overall good but opportunities in niche fields are limited. more focus in these areas could benefit students with specialized courses
while on-campus placments are generally good but still there are some issues with maintance and avilability during peak times and not very good comapanies come

Placement Experience:

for the placements for bca is not very good for getting placement u dont have to get backlog in any subject. not good companies are coming this year in the collgege. they give you 2 options that is on campus and off campus placement but due to not many good companies come in the placement many students in bca opt for offcampus placement in this year. and if any company come in college for bca mostly they are for sales position with less stipend

I like teachers of my department they are very cooperative
I like the vibe of the college and lots of greenery
There's always events or functions happening

Dislikes

I don't like the rude behaviour of the canteen staff
Canteen food is average according to the price
The benches in the college are very small

I wanted to opt for a computer major subject thats why I choose bca for my college studies. For real world applications we get chances to do tasks by ourselves with the help of our friends. Our class students are very cooperative. Exams are taken twice in a year

Likes

I’m absolutely delighted with my experience in SGGS college , the college offer varies opportunity in undergraduate and postgraduate programs and I am impressed by the quality of the education and expertise of the faculty.
I am satisfied with my college it a great place to learn and start a career.
The campus infrastructure is excellent and atmosphere is conductive to learning.

Dislikes

I am disappointed because their placement cell is unorganised and it’s difficult to find a job after complete degree in SGGS college.
The college focus more theory than the practical skills, leaving people for unprepared for real word.
I would not recommend anyone to seeking a quality education.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The college offer a range of course that are relevant to the industry and the job market. Students report that their theory is nice but just focus and need to start practical skills. But they prepare us for real world. The curriculum cover wide range of topics and subjects cover , provide students a comprehensive understanding of their field. The college have semester based exam system, which help student to understand the subject thoroughly.

I had a good experience in MCM

Likes

The college campus building is nice and the teachers are very professional and friendly. Computer labs are well equipped. There is wifi facility. Library is well maintained and is my personal favourite place in the college.
College itself has a variety of shops for students. There are 4 eateries other than the canteen and one general store and a pocket friendly parlour. Food taste and quality is good.
There are many gardens and photoworthy spots within college. College organises many events and fests also.

Dislikes

The guard sometimes check the ID card and sometimes doesn't. There is a time restriction for hostel girls, which is 6pm in evening.
Though there is not much to dislike, but specifically the placements are not so good. The only offers you get will be of sales or chat executives. There might be 1 or 2 recruiters from IT sector but they only hire a handful of 4 to 5 students.

Placement Experience:

Students can attend placement seminars in their last year of graduation. There are mostly placement offers for the role of sales and marketing or chat-call executives. IT companies do visit also but very rarely and they only hire only 5 to 10 candidates. There are sometimes unpaid internship opportunities available too.

Remarks:

A very active college, which cares for the overall development of the students, with good number of placements. The college is serious on discipline not like other colleges. Which surly helps students in their futurel. Its environment is really helpful and caring. And it is considered the best college in the city.

Nothing is negative remarks about the our college. There are so many positive aspect of our college. College are situated on the laps of nature, and all type of transport are available. Near railway station are available and off course college is situated just behind the N.H.

One of the best college for study and make friends.

My experience with admissions in college at Sri guru Gobind Singh are : Admission process is 10+2 with 50% marks Admission form available in college website and DHE website also. Application fee around for BA is 700 And admission start when 12th results declared Their is no enterance exam. Their is no clear guild lines to fill the form . Inside the campus

Application process of this course was quite confusing for the freshman students at the time of my admission as the elegibility criteria was only 12th class but students struggled to take admission as the admission was based on the percentage of 12th class . Due to which quota students got much more benefits as compared to general students. The average cutoff goes on to 90 percent aggregate in 12th class. And the students who got more percentage got admission through counselling list. I didnt like only thing about admission that the general students needed above 90 percentage for admission but quota students needed only above 60 Percentage so their admission was quite easy as compared to general students which is quite unfair bcz sometimes the deserving candidate doesn't gets admission because of seats acquired by quota students...Read More
