Review of SGGS College Sector-26, Chandigarh by a first sem student (Honest review)

I opted for BCA course as I took IT stream in +2 so yeah, I was already in a computer line so BCA course suited me and that's why I opted for it and I really think this is a great course and there is a good scope in this line all you need is to focus on skills and once you mastered the skills, no one can stop you from getting highly paying job.

I don't know much about the placements as I'm in first semester. I don't know which companies have visited here and how much offers they made. I don't know about the average package too. I'm sorry. But yes my plans? I know about them. I'm going to master my skills, I would be the best in our class. I'll top for sure and would get a great job.

Fees in this college is not collected as yearly, instead it is taken before every semester as the fees is semester wise. For the first semester in course BCA the fees is ?35000 then for the another semester fees is lesser than the first sem, its around ?25000-30000. There is no separate fees system like tution fee is this much admission fees this mich that fees this much, it's not like that. When I took admission there were three links for paying fees one was for some college form which costed ?800 then there was total fees of course which was ?35000 and then there was hostel fees which is ?80000. I don't think there is any difference in the fees of those students who belongs to different categories and about scholarship, I haven't seen any one with scholarship.

This is the worse thing about this college. They don't organise much fests and functions. But there is a biggest function which comes every year and that's youth fest. This one is great. Infrastructure is quite good off college but they don't allow much to use. Computer labs are neat and clean and air conditioned. There are a lot of clubs in this college like anti drug club ,environment club and many more. Students of this college are not really into sports.

Hostel are just okay okay. Small rooms provided. Meal is quite good and healthy (I don't know much about hostel, just telling by listening others. Area given for hostel is huge. There's a gym too in the hostel.

I applied to other 5 colleges too which are affiliated by Panjab University and have BCA course. Seats from two colleges were offered to me, one from the college I took admission in and another from the 50 sector post graduate government college. I didn't take admission in the 50 sector post graduate government college because of campus. That college has small campus compared to SGGS college. My admission got rejected in other colleges like SD college, DAV college, PGGC Sector-11 because of there high merit list. The procedure for taking admission in my college is simple. First you need to fill a form in which you have to show your 12th and 10th examination marks and then they prepare a list and give admission to those who have high percentage. Then they call you and offer seat. If you are interested in taking admission then say them yes and then the staff will ask you to pay the admission and tuition fees and done. You are good to go.

The teachers, the staff is bo doubt good. They are approachable and some of the teachers are really lovely. They talk very politely and with love, W.A.P teacher if I may mention, she is really very lovely and polite. The exams are conducted by the college two times in semester, in the mid semester and in the end of the semester. 5 students fails in clearing exam out of 80 students.
