Remarks

I chose because it has best living environment, a campus bigger and more beautiful than you can imagine on scoring low in Mains, minimum fees compared to all other colleges out there, ragging free, majority of the people working as guards are retired army men, you will witness nature at its best, lots of free time to pursue your passion without any burden of assignments and exams.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The course syllabus is just fine and is updated if required each year. Only a few of the faculty members are good but you need to be self dependent and not expect anyone to teach you aur guide you. Your seniors are the only people who can actually help you along with your learning journey.

Placement Experience

1

Placement scene is not good at all. You can barely think of getting placements but improvement is being made and I hope it becomes good till my time comes. I dont know much about the placement process so I cannot specify much about it but some of our seniors got placed in good companies with good package and that shows that hard work pays off and smart work is the helps choosing the right path.

College Events

4.5

Life will seem boring if you choose not to do any extra activities. It is your choices of that are going to decide how your your life is going to be in campus. There is no burden from college and students have a lot of time and can take part in as many activities as they want without any attendance issues or workload. Events like techfest and cultural fest are the best and you get to meet and compete and have fun all at the same time but it takes efforts of people involved in organizing and bringing sponsers.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee reduction is available for people whose parents earn less than 5 lakhs per year. Also students of the OBC, SC and ST students have some relief in fees too which I dont know much about as I come in General category.

Campus Life

4

Labs are good and you can make great use of them personally if you convince the teacher enough. There is a gym in campus and timings for boys and girls are divided so that all of them can take its advantage and same goes for swimming pool. The library is fine with the right books available and most of the study material can be borrowed and there is a minimal need of buying books. Wifi is not the best because lots of people use them and you may sometimes find it annoying but it works great when less people are present or if people are sleeping. Infrastructure is good and becoming great with time passing as investments are being made for new buildings and good equipment.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostels are just good to go with and the are still improving and a lot more better than when I entered the college. Most of the students live in college hostels and you will get used to it soon after entering. Rooms are provided for three in each.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
