Remarks

Being a student from the science background, I didn't really have a prenotion of any of the DU colleges before, but Gargi was in my mind as one of my cousin was an alumni of the college. When things didn't work out with NEET, I chose to switch streams and joined Gargi, because I had qualified in the entrance test of JAT, had a sense of satisfaction that I qualified through an entrance exam.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

As BBE is a professional course, the curriculum is very intensive. It is an amalgamation of both commerce and arts. With economics being the main subject, we also learn about accounts, mathematics, statistics, research methods and finance to name a few. Although there's no thorough exploration of all the subjects involved except that of economics, it's a pretty great course to take up. The academics is satisfactory yet a little disappointing. Its mainly related to the faculty as the college has a very small department of BBE and there are mainly 2 teachers. Teachers are good but BBE being a fairly new course has not yet gotten the real exposure yet. Whereas the college is famous for it's science subjects, it's a bit scary to keep up with that level of competition. Although the placement of BBE students in the highest on campus.

Internships Opportunities

I interned in Aditya Birla Sunlife for Rs. 5000 stipend.

Placement Experience

4

The placement and job offers are satisfactory for a fresher out of company. We have the Big four companies, Delliote, Dell, EY, KPMG. We get offers for the post of analyst, managers, etc. The placement process is quite efficient with pre placement talks and interviews taking place. Alumni network of my course is not that great but I hear the commerce sector has a great alumni network. Placement department works it's day off to get us great opportunities and keeps conducting seminars for us. We don't have an Entrepreneur cell in our college.

College Events

5

The two fests, Zistatva and Reverie are the happening points in anyone in DU, and not just Gargi. People love the fests, kudos to the great PMR team. There are fests of each department as well, the sports Olympiad is also a very exciting team.

Fees and Financial Aid

None. But there is a loan or scholarship facility for the SC/ ST/ OBC on the basis of their merit. I think there is also some facility on the basis of the annual income of your family. You can always cotact the college ofdice for same.

Campus Life

5

I love my college's infrastructure, red brick walls are it's identity. A good cafeteria, library, audi, garden, field makes it a great place to complete your education at. Although the classes are a bit rusty, it's not bad for a government college point of view. But then changes are always welcome.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Gargi doesn't have hostel, I live in a PG nearby to college called Jetley PG for girls. I pay 19000 for double sharing room per month. It's in GK 1, and block Market. The food bill is included in the rent. The gas bill and electricity bill is taken separately per month. Washing machine is also provided.

Iam a first year student and i dont know much about the companies visiting our college. But what I know is there are not alot of placement opportunities in the off campus colleges (there are some exceptions). This is also a reason why companies dont come in these colleges for placement. But if you are form the north campus or south campus you can have alot and better opportunities than the off-campus students
