Remarks
My University is one of the best in state and probably one of top tier as per the NIRF rankings. I choosed this university solely on two factors. First, it's cheap, as coming from a poor background coping up with fees at IIT or NIT was difficult. Second, the culture, Being a state run university the culture is not that mixed so I have very less problems mixing with teachers and other students. Job and career wasn't a criteria when I took it, if it was I would've taken IEE at JU which had a better placement scenario but is in Saltlake campus.
Course Curriculum Overview
For my faculty, it's best in university. Each professor have a huge knowledge base and most of them are really good educators. Apart from that academics are quite hard, the syllabus is big as we don't follow the AITCE syllabus (no common syllabus, so no upgradation) There are 2 semesters each year with 2 class tests in each semester. Sports faculty is quite good as numerous national level players can be seen.
Placement Experience
It is not the best but good, it pretty much depends on the seniors that year. For my department, core job is most sought out with Maharatna companies like IOCL and GAIL came to recruit. IT companies and firms like AB InBev, PWC and etc are quite frequent to us. (I Don't know much as I am personally not interested)
College Events
Numerous fests like Sanskriti Ibtida happens all year round Apart from this this there are club events and department events Events like sanskriti and all are something JU is know all over the city, it's a huge event with famous bands coming to perform. The E-Cell are pretty active at our university thus, organizing several famous events like The Hult. We have our very own tech fest known as The Srijan, where students from different universities come to ours to compete
Campus Life
We have a big field and some smaller fields which I personally like playing on, apart from leisure players, there are serious national level players practicing on our grounds. The Saltlake campus have a good cricket pitch. Fast Wifi is free and it is all over available over 58 acres bug campus Hostel is neat, libraries are good and labs are overpowered Apart from all this the campus was quite green (before amphan hit) and there are 5 canteens all over the campus and numerous outside so food isn't a problem here.
