I wanted to prepare for the civil services exam, so I don't want regular college for my master's, that's why I chose IGNOU as it gives me the freedom to prepare from home as well as I can also prepare for the civil services examination.
Course Curriculum Overview
The syllabus is updated with present times, for eg in Indian polity we study new legislation that recently passed from the parliament and various debate about the topic, which articles it relates to in constitution etc, in international relations also we got enormous insights about the world and what's happening in other countries. How the new world order is a paradigm change in international markets or even in their domestic politics, and how far it affects India's relationship with other countries.
Placement Experience
Placements fair were organised frequently on the campus, it's a great initiative but the jobs offered were having a limited scope like banking, finance, Bpo, marketing, sales. In my opinion, there should be more companies from different dimensions should be presented like think tanks, research, policy management, administration etc
College Events
As distant learning, these things mentioned above was not happening there, but some webinar on some topics of our syllabus would be done by the expert on those subjects. A kind of job fair was also be conducted for students.
Campus Life
For IGNOU students classes takes place in Delhi University colleges, mine was Atma ram Sanatan Dharm college. Infra was quite good, but our classes take place on weekends so the library wasn't open for us. Overall the college was good though.
