Remarks

BCKV is a renowned name in Agriculture universities. It is the best in WB. It has great facilities, secure hostels to live and study. Well equipped labs, library, free WiFi and much more to enhance the knowledge.

Course Curriculum Overview

The faculties are very much updated. Syllabus is fluid with the current education system. They give us an opportunity to work with the rural farmers to get a real life work experience. Rawe program is the best opportunity to know more about rural agriculture.

Class Size: 135Course Fees: INR 1350 per year

Placement Experience

The Pesticide companies recruit every year. ADA is handsome job one can get by passing the job exam. IBPS SO or AFO is another opportunity. Otherwise the students can appear in any govt job exams after completing the degree.

College Events

Naihrit is the grant event of bckv. It is a gala night with lots of entertainment. More over the university take part in the Uni-Fest and Agri-meet every year which are the all India events. Inter - year, inter - hostel sport tournaments are held each year.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a University scholarship for the PG students who score best in the PG entrance. There are Scholarships for the PhD students which is called URS. The URS is given on the results of PhD Entrance exam.

The university has a great campus. A well organised library with free WiFi. All equipped labs. Sport ground to play. Gym, health Centre to take care of the students. Hostels are good, well furnished, good food and much more.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are good. Well furnished with beds, tables, cupboards. The lobby, bathrooms are clean. Each hostel have lawn with flower garden. The common rooms have TV,newspapers, indoors games and much more. Food quality is a very good.

Something is better than nothing

Course Curriculum Overview:

Seat limit has been decreased into a little amount.So, getting chance is more difficult .there are 3 faculties agriculture, horticulture, agriculture engineering.In agriculture faculty so many departments are there ,but seat limit is less.In total seat,80%is for domicile students of West Bengal and 20%for icar accredited university students.In that 80% 70% for university home students and 10% for rest of the domicile students.

The exam was divided into 3 parts I.e 1st mock (15) marks,2nd mock(15 mark) and then final (50mark) and rest 20 mark as practiCal and field work.the students who do class regularly,is easy to pass because teachers are awesome..but if anyone miss class then it's hard to understand by reading books. The guard during exam is too hard..so those students who read concentrately are passed easily .. and those who don't read whole year and only read exam night they failed..

You have to secure good percentage in Higher Secondary and clear the cutoff (More than 90%) to get into UG. You have to clear cutoff of University exams to get into PG/PhD. Eligibility is 12th with P+C+B or vocational with related subjects from any board. Students can also get admission from ICAR AIEEA (UG) exam. Application forms are available on the official website of the university ( https://bckv.edu.in ) when the application portal is opened. The date varies from time to time, generally, the application starts after the result of the 12th board exam is published. Yes, there are reservations for SC ST OBC students, General EWS students also get the benefit of reservation. In each semester there is one midterm one practical evaluation and one final end term for each course in a semester. Difficulty level is moderate.
