Remarks

Best University in India with highly updated facilities and a rich library and has the best curriculum which encourages research work.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

You need to take part in classes. There's a huge scope for Co-curricular activities and self development. The curriculum is now as per UGC guidelines, i. e. CBCS. There are different types of fests and competitions and literary programmes to encourage students mental as well as physical skills.

Placement Experience

2

The placement cell is not good. May be 10-15 internships a year, mostly for Science students. Till now I've not availed any internship.

College Events

5

Milieu - Inter - college yearly fest with events theme walk, dance, drama, creative writing etc. ISPAT Abahon - college yearly fest for Freshers with events theme walk, dance, drama, creative writing etc. Icon - college yearly fest for Freshers with events theme walk, dance, drama, creative writing etc. University elections - it feels so wonderful when its election time here. It's like a celebration here at Presidency.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is feasible in terms of the facilities it provides. My entire programme fee is 10000. Semester fee ranges between 1100 - 1500. There's transparency is fee breakdown. The mode is online and offline both for payment. No additional fees required.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, the college offers scholarships of its own. It gives 25000 to the people in actual need. The eligibility criteria varies from year to year. In the present year, the family year should be within 4000 and the student must have secured 60% results in the previous semester.

Campus Life

5

Presidency University encourages diversity in the fields. With teacher-student matches to boys-girls matches and a yearly cricket match between past vs present students. Literary fests, science fest, economics fest, debates, cultural meets, inter-college competitions, theme walks, drama, etc and so much more, we've it all here.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is excellent here. Alumnus helps the governing body of the college. The Foundation day is organised by them. Presidency Museum is a result of the Alumnus. There are past vs present cricket matches held every year, Watch party and so much more.

Admission

I got admission to this University via the Entrance examination which opts for MCQs. This institution is 203 years old and South Asia's oldest institute with a notable alumnus who has been Presidents, Vice - Presidents, Economist, Prime Ministers, Researchers, Noble Laureates, etc.

Faculty

5

Every paper has 64 lectures in total. They try to access the latest available data on the Internet as well as encourage us to learn from new research. The classes are mainly open discussions by professors. I don't know about the average age of the professor required but he/ she must be a Doctorate with papers published as mentioned by UGC.

Course Curriculum Overview:

So, we read great authors like Mulvey, Kafka, Eliot, Plath, Toni Morisson amongst others. The works provided a deep insight on the working of the world, how brutal and harsh the reality is and how we can overcome these. The course helped the students in the humanitarian understanding of human and emotions which I guess is lacking in today's world. The exams were held after 3-4 months for the semester

Presidency University, Master of Arts [MA] (Political Science)
Reviewed on Jan 12, 2024(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

This university has a widespread name for generations and so the courses taught here must be for not only students' academic excellence but also for their personality building. My course 'Political Science' has created my kin interest to study the subject in later life and when it comes with the name of Presidency University, it always offers better prospects for students. The faculties are very co-operative, responsible and student friendly except few in our particular department. The faculty-student ratio is 3:50. Most of the faculties believe in teaching in unconventional method, so they organize experimental modes for Internal assessment, exams and teaching courses. However the university has its biggest problem hidden in its untimely routine of completing syllabus and conducting exams or internals. Term exams are conducted just before the exams which is inconvenient, however the exams in our department are not too difficult to pass. The faculties give pass marks to all students.
