Good infrastructure with average teaching staff

I think they need to provide industry oriented classes and internship with good placement.

Mangalam college is under Kalam technical University. There are 8 semesters in the 4 year course. The standard of education and infrastructure in the college is good. They are providing enough opportunity for us to grow as a professional but I don't think the curriculum is industry oriented. Most of them are theory based not dealing with any current scenario's.

In mechanical engineering department I don't they provide enough placement opportunities but they did provide some training to face an interview and how to tackle some examination. Students need to find internship college doesn't play any role in finding internship opportunities.

There are many events organised in the college. The main event is the college arts and technical fest conducted by the college itself. Other than that there are department wise event organised by the particular departments every year. Students from other college visit during this time inorder to take part in the programs conducted. Also there is onam and Christmas celebration in the college.

Fee structure is different for everyone. Nowadays, fees are determined by various factors like educational background, financial background and most importantly caste. There are certain reservation available for lower caste people. In management seat the starting fee is above 80000 upto 1 lakh per year. Meanwhile, for merit seat I think it is upto 60000 per year. There are also additional fee for examination charged by University which around 2000 I guess.

Yes, the college offer scholarships for students who are good in studies and weak family backgrounds. You have to submit your educational details and get a letter from any politicians or ward members to state your financial situation. Caste based scholarships are available. The total amount of scholarship cost around 2 to 3 lakhs depending upon your financial situation.

It was good everyone was equally treated there was no discriminations. Technical fest which helps us to bring close to teaching staff and industrial visit help us to enjoy our college life and moreover helped us to discover new thing and learnt a whole alot about technology. Everyone was friendly even the management we could always share our complaints about the college with the management. We even have physcology sir to deal students with depression or problems with studying.

Yes, hostel room is good and each room accomodate 4 people. There are also bed available but we need to buy matress separately. It is a three storied building which could accommodate around 200 students approx. But there are also pg available nearby college which is more affordable which cost around 3000 which includes food and rent for the month. College hostel cost around 20000 for yearly rent and 4000 for monthly food. There is no attached bathroom facilities or air conditioned rooms available.

No, I don't think so. They don't even conduct any alumni meets or programs to help students to visit college once again.

I didn't perform well in my entrance exam so I have to choose management seat instead of merit. Mostly admission will start from June to August. I suggest you must decide your college get into the admission process soon otherwise seat must get filled due to demand.

Faculties are good especially at the mechanical department. If you are good in something they will give enough opportunities for us to grow. Unfortunately, they didn't make an effort to help us to do something creative. The knowledge of the faculties are okay. I don't think they have vast knowledge about the subject but they are good. I think they are almost 20 to 30 staff in mechanical engineering department itself. They lab facilities are good and are supervised by skilled personnels. Most of lectures are aged around 30 to 40. Most of them hold an Masters degree in mechanical engineering besides some got PhD.
