Remarks

I dont have any bad remarks. I am positive feelings towards the college and its teachers and i only hope with time the college further improves and provides very good placements

Entrance Preview

Jorhat Entrance Test (JET). score was 100/300this college is a prestigious college and hence i wanted to be a part of it. i have applied for other colleges also but was happy to be selected for this college. i wish all the current students all the best for your entrance exams and hope you all succeed

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I completed my course in electrical field. There were lot of subjects and i passed more than 10 years before. So i dont have each and every subject information right now and will have to check my marksheets but currently i am out of town.

Internships Opportunities

College internship was good but we were not offered any stipend. However we learned a lot in our internship and am happy to be offered a chance. I think current students are offered stipendbut we were not offered.

Placement Experience

2.5

During that period there were no placements. However now they do have placements. I went to bangalore personally and searched for jobs but yes due to my degree with the college and my good performance in the interview and written test, i got good job

College Events

2

There were multiple events. new year, assamese festival called bihu and lot many events like farewell, teachers day. There are pretty big and participation level was also good. Food quality was also comparatively better in these events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was feasible however i dont have the detail structure since i passed out more than 10 years back. However over a period of time it has increased but i still believe it is feasible yet.

Fees and Financial Aid

No. I have no knowledge of any scholarship or loan facility. I myself had not taken any loan since my parents were able to afford it. So i am sorry to not be able to provide these details.

Campus Life

2

Campus life was good but could have been better because compared to other colleges it was not up to the mark. But i believe over a period of time it must have improved

Hostel Facilities

1.5

Hostel facilities and mess food was very poor. We used to do strike also at times. But now as per information form others it has become better than before. it has improved

Alumni/Alumna

College seniors initially did lot of ragging but later became little friendlier, how ever we as seniors never ragged students and treated them well. Because we didnt want them to be depressed and feel out of place. We didnt want to treat them unfairly like we have been treated.

Exam Structure

Exams were on half yearly basis and it was hectic of course given the number of subjects we had to study but over all it was a good experience as it helped us to learn multi tasking as well as ability to take hardships and stress.

Faculty

3

Faculty was good and upto mark. I feel lucky to be a part of the college and pass out from there. The college over a period of time has further improved. So the students now are more privileged than us.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not really good in our college, it is more of a research institute so it mainly focuses on PhD as PhD strength is good. Higher education is more prefered here but placement scenario is also good

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant and is different for different branches according to their needs. I was interested in civil engineering and chose the course and find the curriculum intersting and relevant for me . The curriculum offers subject which are important for real world applications, like in civil engineering it's offers subjects like building construction, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, material testing, serving, etc. The course curriculum is very good but the teaching methods needs improvement like more digitalization . The exams frequency and timings are neither too late nor too early, they are perfectly planned and executed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There exists a good teaching staff that's why the course is very easy to understand also teachers give us good examples also do practicals so that's students understand the course easily . I see that there exist a low no of equipments in practical lab compare to it's students ratio so if they have a good no of equipments then all students get equipment to do experiment without any waste of time . Time is good as compare to marks and the first 30 marks are beginner level the other 40 marks are intermediate level and the remaining 30 Marks are advanced level questions in a question paper for the students they published.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario is quite good, with several reputed companies like General Electric, Power Grid Corporation of India, Goldman Sachs, among others recruiting 94 percent of the students in the college. The placement takes place in three rounds, one testing one's aptitude, followed by an hour round, finally leading on to a technical round. Mock interview and job cracking sessions are organized regularly, both by the departments, and also the Training and Placement Cell, to prepare students for the interviews and examinations going forward. The Training and Placement Cell also provides internship opportunities at the end of third year for the students, based on their aptitude and abilities

Remarks:

I have mostly positive remarks about college except for the fact that the college is situated really far from mainstream north India. Train connectivity is not that strong to rest of country. But despite that the college is extremely good in the sense of learning, meeting new innovative minds, and of course placements and jobs.
