Remarks

No there is nothing bad about this university. Everyone is given the respect that they earn. We are groomed to understand each and every aspects of this world from political to apolitical. It's a great experience.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

It's a 3 year course with 6 semesters. The final semester consists of only project or internship depending on what the student gets. The semesters are well balanced covering near about all the topics guiding the students to be a part of the industry. Regular assignments are given and surveyed.

Placement Experience

4.5

Yes placements are very good. But there is steep competition with the CS students both UG & PG course. We are given equal opportunity to sit in almost all companies except the ones which had criteria. I got 2 offers from my campus placement.

College Events

5

There are many events starting from annual sports to sanskriti to football & cricket tournaments. Every year sanskriti takes place around the month of March and all students are excited about this event. It's a long event. It usually runs a full week and classes are suspended from second half.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is quite simple and feasible. Though there are special concessions for the people who are unable to pay. Appropriately our yearly fees is around 5000. There are different scholarships available which the students can avail. Hostel is also available for the person who came to study from other states or had to cover huge distance every day.

Fees and Financial Aid

No I haven't applied for scholarship. I had left it since there were few people who really needed it. Since I had the option to travel from home so it was nit that costly for me. But few of my friends really needed it.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is awesome. One should experience life at JU. No one can match it. Everyone is treated fairly from teaching to non-teaching, from male to female. Each and every student gets the respect which they deserve. We had the opportunity to participate in different activities which takes place and there is no bar for any particular stream and all. All events are open to all but certainly there are some guidelines which needs to be followed

Hostel Facilities

4.5

No I haven't opted for hostel but few of my friends got hostel depending on the distance of the university from their home. Other factors like financial strength as well as the availability of space to accommodate people plays an important factor. There is a quota for 2 person from MCA in hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

For MCA we didn't have such alumni network but yes seniors are very helpful. Infact we try to keep in touch with everyone. We had a group in Facebook where every year fresher's are added and our community is growing big.

Admission

Had to give WBJECA entrance exam. And need 60% marks in mathematics in UG course. I opted for this course since I had a knack in computer application and wanted to enter the IT sector. This course was suitable for me since I didn't want to pursue MSc. After giving the entrance exam, counseling dates are given on the website and on the basis of rank first come first serve. So the person with better rank and fulfilling the criteria will get admission.

Faculty

4

I would like to give a big thanks to the faculty as they are very helpful. Teachers impart great knowledge which can be applied in real life too. The course curriculum is mainly based on application of computer. So the students get much accustomed to the services.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I had passed out BCA and wanted to study further to learn more and in depth. So, I had decided to join the course. Like all other curriculums of Indian education system, the course was outdated and failed to deliver the standard required to be job-ready. The areas of improvement could be to avoid long boring lectures or focusing on ranting textbook definitions and rather focus on real life based problem solving approach development. There were semester exams every 6 months. It was not at all hard if regular study schedule could be followed. However, biased grading by teachers made things difficult for all except a few.
